I vote for Halloween to be the holiday where Christians celebrate the harrowing of hades and the saints coming out of their tombs and appearing to many as in Matthew 27:53. Naturally, the ascent of souls from hades to heaven is an ongoing process, as some portion of the dead who aren't yet prepared to enter heaven will still spend time in hades, cleansing their sins and releasing their earthly attachments.
