Morality is derived from society through trials, experience, Scrutiny and approval.Even if a religious clergy or scholar formulates a religious perspective to a modern problem which didn't exist in the past, He's doing so by the said societal method and you have to trust HIS OWN judgement and interpretation, Not the Lord's. Even a fanatical sect like Jehovah's witness revised their ruling on surgical and medicinal matters several times due to practicality, Can't stick to a "Pure way" when people's lives are at stake. This goes for all religions, As they progressed to adapt.Like, Even if you asked for reasons of said rulings of these religions you'd get a very practical answer most of the time, As if we can't decide such matters ourselves. We live in the 21st century, Thanks to anthropology we know the reason for various religious taboos: Pigs probably because of parasites, Adultery due to paternal certainty, Usury due to debt-slavery, Veiling and modesty due to tribal competition, etc. etc.Progressing morality and societal norms are splendid as we're allowed to questions any rules we don't like or find impractical due to changing times; While static and fixed moral frameworks are actually HIGHLY dystopic and unsatisfactory which religious people somehow turned into a positive.I'm not great at articulating myself so I hope I got my point across.
