The sole purpose of theme is to have a foundation of reality based on lies, then lies will support lies (be seen as truths) and truths will not support the lies (be rejected because it collapses their reality).

This is why blacks vote inline with Jews 80%+ of the time, they have the same "G-d" (anti-Truth, anti-Life, anti-Way)...you know, like you and worshipping Chemosh (Ba'al, Moloch, "ancient Egyptian gods", etc).

The name is a idol-bait, the end result destination is the same.

How well travelled is he by now? Seems like he’s been to most places he speaks on, not to mention his turkey prediction would be hard to go against on demographics alone when compared to Eastern Europe and the balkans, as they will have more military aged men in the coming decades and then whole area from turkey to polands borders combined when it comes to their military aged men as stated by Peter zeihan which is where I think rudyard got the idea from

I find it fascinating people worship gods they dont even believe in...almost like theyre a "non-practicing Atheist".

They cant understand the god came before the name, or the ritual, or the people...it changes names, called different things around the world and across time, but the function, the results, remain the same.

Mesoanon here, I'll give him this, he at least went out of his way to read about the topic when he did videos on it. Now, the sources he read were quite outdated and questionable, and as a result his videos had a fair amount of issues, but realistically I felt he gave a shit about what he was talking about and put more effort into looking into the topic then a lot of generalist Youtubers do when covering Mesoamerica, and I'm not really sure I'd say his video is any more inaccurate then how most people cover the topic

This is def more of a "the bar being so low it's underground" sort of thing then anything else, tho

One of my friends (who helped write videos for like half the channels I list below) also spoke to him over DMs a few times to discuss some Mesoamerican stuff/his videos, and apparently he's at least polite and civil in those conversations, though it never crystalized into him helping him cover the topic

The only channels that I felt have really handled the region well are Ancient Americas, AztlanHistorian, ArtsQ, Matt Gush, DJPeachCobbler, Stefan Milo (for his Tlaxcallan video), MrLaserHistory (for his sacrifice video), and I'll give conditional or partial recs to EmperorTigerstar, Kings & Generals, InvictaHistory, CosmicChaaya, NativeLang, ExtraHistory, Lockstin&Gnoggin (for his Tlalocmon video, the other vids he's mentioned the region in not so much), CartoonUniverse (for her Onyx Equinox video), ReligionForBreakfast, Esoterica, and Nota Bene (for his "Olmèques, Mayas, Teotihuacan, Aztèques, c'est quoi la différence ?" video)

Also I haven't watched many of their vids yet but David Miano and Ed Barnhart's are probably good (though Ed has a bad habit of getting stuff wrong about Central Mexico and the Aztec sometimes in the interviews I've seen with him, which makes some sense, I guess, in that his specialty is the Maya, but he's still an actual Mesoamerican archeologist, so I expect better)

I would like to recommend to you Fall of Civilisations.
The Sumer and Assyria episodes were really good.
>>
>>18716612
I got through like half (maybe even just half of part 1?) of their Aztec episode and got frustrated and stopped. IIRC I intended to finish it later but never got around to it

It's not like Fall of Civilizations did a particularly horrible job, but it wasn't more in depth or accurate then how most people handle the topic, and given the premise of their Podcast series/channel, which is about the "fall of civilizations", I felt that them getting the details wrong about why and how the Aztec fell were particularly egregious. Like, when NativLang gets some details wrong about how the Aztec fell in his videos about Nahuatl, it's not too big an issue because the video is primarily about linguistics and that historical tangent is just a small part of the video. But if your entire video is about how the Aztec fell, especially if it's over an hour long I expect you to get that right

My specific issues with his Aztec episode(s), for the portions I saw, were:

1. Using Danza Aztecas performers as background footage. The dance and outfits used in the Danza has almost nothing to do with actual Prehispanic dances or fashion, as it was heavily transformed and influenced by (inaccurate) pop culture depictions of Mesoamerica over the past century (see pic). Even if you go back before that happened, the Concheros dances it developed out of were from certain Chichimeca communities, not Nahua ones, so what little legit indigenous origins the Danza has aren't even from any group we'd consider "Aztec" even under a loose definition of the term

I would have not used any actual on-location video footage or b-roll at all in the video, and rather used artistic reconstructions with some video editing and compositing work to do this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallax_scrolling with them. If they were committed to live action video footage, then they at least should have used video of actual Nahua communities who still wear huipil and quechquemitl and such, not Danza performers

Interesting reply thankyou
>but it wasn't more in depth or accurate then how most people handle the topic
eh I do think the episodes are a broad look at the civilisations/groups/cultures, just with a bit more spent on the decline than you would have in something that goes out of its way to call itself an overview.
So that being the case, as opposed to an hour-long thing that came into it with the idea that the listener already knew what was what and who was who, that could very much focus on the topic the name of the series indicates, I can understand a lack of depth when coming at it from..
>who were they, what were they and where did they go?
which seems to be what this Cooper lad is aiming for.
Very little excuse for a lack of accuracy however. In his Easter Island episode he had people (this is from memory so I might be wrong) actually on Rapa Nui singing their traditional folk songs in that traditional style. I don't know if those songs, words, instruments etc were a good representation of what it would have been like at the time the show speaks of, but Cooper put a good amount of effort in to get that I would imagine.

I'll check out some of the names you posted. Kings & Generals isn't for me, but Justin @ Esoterica is always an interesting listen. Not a clue about the rest so I'll have a go.

2. They brought up the omens prophesizing the arrival of Cortes and Moctezuma II's superstitious dread, despite the fact that these are almost certainly examples of early colonial revisionism. Now, apparently, in Part 2 of the Aztec episode(s), they later explain that indeed these omens probably never happened, but from what I remember about the part I got to, they were brought up pretty uncritically: Even if they break down why they were probably a myth later in more depth, I still would have stressed in this earlier mention that they likely never happened.

I also doubt that when they break down how the omens were myths later on, if they also noted how actually Moctezuma II's actions as we know them make a great deal of sense within the context of Mesoamerican politics, considering...

3. They repeat the common misconception that Cortes got allies against the Mexica of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan due to them doing sacrifices/demanding victims from conquered subjects/their rule being oppressive etc. This is THE biggest problem, as it fundamentally mischaracterizes the actual political dynamics involved, and those dynamics dictated how local Mesoamerican kings, officials etc interacted with both the Conquistadors and Aztec diplomats, tax officials etc over the course of 1519-1521, which by extension determined how and why basically everything played out the way it did in the end, as their choices influenced things more than the choices made by Cortes.

On that note, another issue with the episode(s) was that at least from the parts I saw, they focused a lot on what Cortes did, only a bit on what Moctezuma was doing, and I don't recall if Velazquez came up (I didn't get far enough into it to see if Narvaez was mentioned, but I assume he probably is at least a bit), but Ixtlilxochitl II, Xicotencatl I and II, Xicomecoatl, etc aren't mentioned at all (at least not in the parts I got through)

Hey I dont know who that is & I dont care but you asked about history.
I recently read one of the best history books Ive ever read; "Sapiens". I highly recommend it. I think give it 2 chapters to know if you like it or not.
Its about the history of humans from beginning to now.
Its written by a jew if that matters.
I also recommend the E-book version.

I think that because the show is targetted at people with a somewhat basic level of historical knowledge (or like me having a lack of knowledge about Mesoamerica) so it has to lay the rest out before getting to the fall.
It is a shame because his prose and production is good, and the info actually gets into my head (which I typically find hard with audio) so would lend itself toward something with a bit more depth.
If you have any recommendations for anything similar I will 100% try it out.
