>Subsequently, they coauthored the book The Jewish Stake in Vietnam, an attempt to convince American Jews of the "evil of Communism".[34] The introduction states that, "All Americans have a stake in this grim war against Communism... It is vital that Jews realize the threat to their very survival [should Communism succeed]."
found this after looking up one of the names on OP's book

yeah the jdl was actually more anti soviet than they were anti arab, that's something most people forget.

I'm Jewish, my grandfather owned a bandaid factory in new york that employed around 500 people. He'd been opposed to US military involvement in Vietnam since 1962 and became very active in the antiwar movement. My mom (b. 1955) remembered going to protests all the time as a child. Nonetheless he was approached by the state department in 1965 who organized a trip for him to visit south vietnam to explore the possibility of building a bandage factory there. He was shocked by the extremely open amount of corruption in south vietnam and after running the numbers found a factory would not be possible because after the amount of bribes he'd have to pay it would not be profitable. He walked away from the trip even more convinced the vietnam war was wrong because the people we were supporting were crooks.

I heard this book was a psyop in of itself, something to do effete New Englanders and their undying hatred for all things regarding the white underclass.

Reading this one. Its not bad but when he used the pronoun "she" in one of this sentences I became visibly uncomfortable.

How often do you all read whole books front to back vs just read specific chapters at a time that are relevant to whatever you are researching at the moment?

I do the latter drastically more often then the former but I suspect that's a result of me often reading to do research for projects and writeups wheras most people read for fun/leisure in which case there's no real rush or urgency or point in doing it that way

I read it fun so itโ€™s always an entire book front to back at a time and usually just once. Iโ€™m not writing anything so I have no reason to jump around for particular bits of info (if I was Iโ€™d use academic articles anyway). I have a living head cannon of theories and understandings of how things were/went on subjects that interest me that Iโ€™m always refining and revising as I read and learn. Shit posting here actually helps this process by recalling info and doing quick checks online to see if my memory is accurate.

Federal authorities were very worried about the JDL attacking Soviet diplomatic installations in New York, sparking a nuclear confrontation. They were quite the rambunctious lot. Meir Kahane had pretty high connections with gentile anti-communist activists as well. His movement was the flipside of this: >>18717543

Ironically because I love arguing I mostly read certain chapters of books simply so I can win debates easier

huh really? interesting, i guess i'll have to read a little further and find out myself.

she mentioned how mcveigh claimed he had a microchip implanted in his ass that made him do the bidding of the govt. not sure if that's true, that seems cartoony. if anything i think it's pretty clear he got oswalded (guided to do the bidding of the govt in ways he didn't realize). always feel bad for these guys in some strange way

>>18718644
yes i'm pretty sure there was a plot to blow up the soviet embassy? or maybe there was a minor bomb that went off on the same block as it? the kgb tried to retaliate by planning to bomb harlem and blame it on the jdl no joke. the conflict between ultra zionists and the ussr was a major one that no one talks about, probably because it complicates the narrative abt jews and the ussr a bit
