>Left built by greeks
>Right built by germans
What causes this?
>>
>>18717927
For Germans Greece is still associated heavily, if not primarily, with the legacy ancient Greece while for the greeks themselves its just the country they live in meaning they don't spend all day larping its distant past
>>
>>18717927
>why doesn't an insurance agency look like a theater?
I personally blame capitalism.
>>
>>18717927
Damn I wonder why modernist architecture only exists in Greece and nowhere else
>>
>>18718026
>GUYS LOOK I CALLED IT LARPING CAN YOU GIVE ME RETWEETS AND UPBOATS NOW?!?!?
>>
>>18717927
>Soul vs utility.
Sums up the difference between Greeks and Germans, or just protestants and catholic/orthodoxs
>>
me going up to a German soldier reading the Iliad the evening before he goes over the top of the trench:
>you stupid fucking larper, don't you know what you're doing? You're LARPING! You're doing a cultural appropriation. You're doing a sacred tomb theft. You stole that artifact, you appropriated my hairbraids and my AUTOCHTHONOUS WHOLESOME INDIGENOUS MYTHOS (transformed from tawdry obscure artifact into mainstream work of literature by George Chapman and Alexander Pope and depicting a site permanently forgotten by Anatolians and Greeks until excavated and rediscovered by Heinrich Schliemann)
>>
>>18718427
Where is the soul on the left?
>>

retard
>>
>>18718430
Maybe the German soldier could read his own ancient epics....ah right they don't have any because being barbarian savages they didn't start writing until the early Middle Ages
>>
>>18718515
They did an cultural appropriashun when they turned our forgotten stories, only copied down unthinkingly rote by monks, into mainstream works of literature, and actually discovered through excavation the ancient ruins that we thought were imaginary
>>
MY CULTURE IS NOT YOUR COSTUME. DONT YOU DARE DISCOVER THAT CITY THAT TWO SECONDS AGO I BELIEVED TO BE NONEXISTENT
>>
>>18718519
>our forgotten stories

This retard thinks that Germs rediscovered the ancient Greek classics when it was preserved by Byzantine and Arabs, and that at a time when Germs were still Grug-like and couldn't even read/write yet. Germoids only started being interested in the Greeks in the 19th century and mostly to wewuzz like that retard Otfried Muller who went around saying that the Dorians wuz Germanic (just a totally disinterested hypothesis bro ahahah)
>>
>>18718515
Now thats just pure projection
>>
>>18717927
>What causes this?
Greece being a shithole?
Prolly it being filled with greeks probably.
>>

It's not really cherrypicking athens was a literal shantytown with some ruins Before being modernized by the king otto same with all of greece.
Rule of thumb if you see a nice building thats not a ruin in athens it was built by a german.
If you see a dilapited grey apartment block (99% athens) it was built by a greek.
>>
>>18718651
It's not a greek fault that greece was poor and underdeveloped and germany was developed. Nor a german for that matter. Friendly nations should support each other and respect each others culture.
>>
>>18718651
Now we moved to architectural wewuzzing too lmao, also I bet you aren't even German but some Amerimutt who's never been to Europe

This was built by a danish architect.

Why did you post an Amerimutt like you?
>>
>>18718718
Laid the foundation himself and did his own carpentry did he?
>>
>>18718712
You're more likely to find people with those names in Latin America than in Greece

Modern Greeks have no claim to the legacy of Ancient Hellas because they abandoned Greco-Roman paganism in favor of Christianity. If they wanted Jesus so badly, then they should have just did what they did with Isis and Mithras by assimilating him into the pantheon as an aspect of Dionysus rather than fully replacing the Greco-Roman pantheon
>>
>>18718651
Nice bait attempt! You must have an exciting life, waking up, baiting people on a historical discussion board, going to sleep, doing it all over again!

Fortunately there are many stupid people on this board who take your bait so you can troll all day long and never have to engage in any productive activities ever again.
