Have you ever noticed how Christians say Satan will help people physically in the short term and God's benefits are transcendent and eternal, when in the OT literally the only way God blessed people was physical worldly short term benefits? When the OT was written the concepts of heaven and hell didn't even exist, there was only sheol. The Christian afterlife was borrowed exclusively from pagan sources.
>>18718580This is Bes, btw
>>18718588It entertains me how you show up to every thread that bears this image to cope, almost as if to convince yourself
>>18718589It entertains me how you show up to every thread that bears this threads to cope, almost as if to convince yourself, isn't fucking spammer?
>>18718580Christianity emphasizes that the world is Satan's domain. 2 Corinthians 4:4>The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ. The idea of Satan being able to help his followers in worldly affairs thereby follows naturally, even if the supposition in the first place undercuts Judaism's cosmogony which places YHVH as the creator entity who directly intercedes on his chosen people's behalf.
>>18718605>Christianity emphasizes that the world is Satan's domain. If God is good and Satan is evil he wouldn't make the world we are forced to live in Satan's domain

>>18718610That isn't Bes in the image. It's YHWH and his Asherah
>>18718611A user has repeatedly proven that the creature in the image is Bes. That is Bes.
>>18718609The New Testament characterizes Satan as a God too whose powers arguably rival YHVH's own (hence why there's a final battle in Revelation whereas otherwise that'd make no sense)
>>18718620That is logically impossible with true monotheism and proves that Christianity is full of lies
>>18718624Judaism and Christianity aren't actually monotheistic. They're henotheistic, acknowledging the existence of other Gods while emphasizing the worship of one over the rest. The first Commandment in Exodus 20:3 wouldn't make any sense otherwise:>"You shall have no other Gods before me"
>>18718632And that raises a lot of questions because why the fuck shouldn't I, especially when some of them actually thwart yhwh in the bible itself
>>18718580>>18718611>>18718589I will always be here to refute you, no matter how many times it takes. Why does this image belong to Bes?1) the use of a dotted line parallel to a solid line follows the pattern of so-called "Midianite" pottery.2) drawings and inscriptions are not directly related: the figures were made with a thick brush and the inscriptions with a thin brush, and not all inscriptions overlap the drawings.IF the inscription were a comment on the drawing, the author would not let the text become distorted by writing over it, you moron. The overlapping only makes sense if the author was just practicing writing. The inscription 3.6 ("Yahweh... and his asherah") was written ABOVE the feather crown of the figure on the left> Beck observes that the use of the dotted line parallel to an unbroken one conforms to a pattern following the so-called 'Midianite' pottery (Beck 1982, p. 33)"it is clear that the drawings and the inscriptions are not directly related to each other.
>>18718605>>18718620For me it sounds like christianity is gnostic in its nature and often tries to hide it. Original sin also feels more like a gnostic concept.
>>18718635Was reading a little bit ago about how Jewish monotheism developed in part because the Hebrews kept getting their shit kicked in by other powers. Instead of saying "wow our God sucks, he got beat by their God" they went "actually our God was using those other powers to punish us". In comparison places like Rome and Egypt were big expansionist empires and were fairly comfortable just going "oh yeah we've got that God too we just call him something else"
>>18718641The relief is of "Adonai and his Asherah."
