They seem to always be in the right side of history, including but not limited to:

>Birthed two of the greatest Roman emperors
>Reconquista and expulsion saved Europe from Islamization
>The Inquisition, despite its bad rep, was the earliest institution of fair trial and due process, including saving thousands of women from witch executions which was occurring up north by misogynist Anglo-Germanics
>Stopped Aztec human sacrifice and cannibalism, yet still documented
>Actually treated the colonial subjects fairly and integrated them unlike the Anglos, going as far to halt their expedition to debate whether they were being fair enough.
>Had the earliest women and POC professors
>Rescued and emancipated runaway black slaves from British-American colonies to Florida
>Helped financed America for independence against the British
>Stayed away from both World Wars
>Only nation to truthfully reported the Spanish flu instead of downplaying it
>Spanish Blue Division who fought with the Nazis were reported to be the most humane and respected women
>Franco liberated Spain from communism and rescued Jewish refugees instead of just rejecting them
>Earliest and most prominent pro-Palestinian Western countries
>Today a very advanced country with high living standards and rich culture and landscape

Spain is like the equivalent of a comic superhero. Unfortunately like those comic superheroes they are often slandered despite everything they've done.

You probably forget the most important nowadays. Probably the best country in the world to live. Half Europeans want to live there and it is not just the sun but dozens of other motives. If half of Europe wants to live in Spain, the rest of the world too.

Even bears are happy living in green Spain.

Coastatal zones are full of: German, Dutsch, Belgian and Scandianiva people they live in parking coastatal zones near beach from September to June in their precious motorhome in orther to not pay taxes to Germany and other countries.

Also in countryside not so farway from coastatal zones are also small communities of Deutsch and other euroepan people.

It had been that way since 30-35 years ago.

>This was before anything resembling 'Spain' was a country
Hispania.

"Hispania—even more than Italy or any other country in the world—was a region where war tended to drag on, owing to both the nature of the terrain and the character of its inhabitants. Thus, Hispania was the first non-island province entered by the Romans, and it was also the last to be pacified". Titus Livius.

"The Celtiberians far surpass others in the design of their swords; they feature a strong point and a double cutting edge. Consequently, the Romans abandoned the swords of their ancestors and adopted those of the Hispanics."
— Suidas / Polybius

"The Hispanic nation—or Hispania Universa—failed to unite against Rome. Shielded by the Pyrenees and the sea, it would have been inaccessible. Its people were always of great worth, yet poorly organized." — Lucius Annaeus Florus.

"The Celtiberian came too, who delights in the horror of battle... A people for whom dying of sickness in bed is a disgrace; they deem it noble to yield up their lives in combat, and believe their souls ascend to the gods of heaven if their fallen bodies are devoured by the voracious vulture." — Silius Italicus

"Their bodies are conditioned for abstinence and toil, and their spirits for death. They practice a harsh and austere sobriety in all things. [...] They prefer war to peace, and if they lack an external enemy, they seek one at home."— Pompeius Trogus

"A captured warrior, while being crucified by his enemies, continued to sing songs of victory with a cheerful countenance, demonstrating absolute contempt for pain."
— Strabo

"It is the custom among the Hispanics for those who form a chieftain's guard to perish with him should he die. They call this 'consecration' (devotio)."
— Plutarch

>France did much more and at greater risk to herself.
No Way. Spain was just as (or even more) important.

1. The network of the Basque merchant Diego Gardoqui. Basic supplies were shipped from New Orleans directly northward via the Spanish-controlled Mississippi River to supply the Continental forts. Even before formally declaring war, Spain kept George Washington’s army—which at the start of the revolution lacked almost all gunpowder and medicine—alive. Gardoqui held a place of honor during Washington’s inauguration as the country’s first president.

2. In June 1779, Spain declared war on Great Britain, forcing the British Navy to split its forces across the globe to defend its possessions against the Spanish offensive (Spain opened simultaneous fronts in the English Channel, the Caribbean, America, and the Mediterranean).

3. Bernardo de Gálvez. The governor of Spanish Louisiana executed a series of brilliant military offensives along the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico that shattered the British strategy in the South. He took the British forts at Baton Rouge and Natchez by surprise; captured Fort Charlotte, leaving the British isolated in the region; and achieved his crowning victory at the Siege of Pensacola, where he definitively drove the British out of West Florida and ensured the U.S. could not be attacked from the south. Gálvez marched at George Washington’s right hand during the July 4th victory parade in Philadelphia.

4. The famous final battle of Yorktown (1781) relied on a financial bailout from Spain. French troops were on the verge of mutiny due to a lack of pay, and Washington had no funds to move his army. Spanish commissioner Francisco de Saavedra organized an emergency fundraising drive in Havana and Mexico. Within a few weeks, they managed to collect millions of silver reales, which were used to pay the soldiers and finance the French fleet that blockaded Chesapeake Bay.

The OP posted the flag of Spain which denotes a specific political entity. Hispania as a Roman province cannot be considered an independent country, and you would be hard pressed to argue post Reconquista Spain is in any way politically related to pre Roman conquest Iberia. Every cultural institution (language, religion, political organization) was either changed or its continuous tradition severed. Massive migrations (Volkswanderung) changed the genetic makeup of the residents. If you care about the history of a piece of dirt, then good for you, but that is not what my comment was addressing.
>>18719705
Then the fact that the Umayyads were still conducting campaigns in Central France ten years later means Pelagius' accomplishment was meaningless in saving Europe.
>>18719749
Pure cope. Taking advantage of a distracted Britain to further Spain's own interests is exactly what you would expect of a shiftless, siesta-taking Spaniard.
>>
>>18719807
Another one who comes here just to mess around, rather than to have a serious discussion...

Spain is not a flag and Spaniards are proud of their pre-roman side as much of the roman one. It's part of their history.

Pelagius limited their capacity to easily launch massive reinforcements into Aquitaine and France. Plus, following the sudden and catastrophic collapse of the entire Visigothic Kingdom in 711, Christian morale across western Europe was shattered. By proving that a small, determined force could exploit geography to defeat an Umayyad army, Pelagius boosted the morale and crushed the myth of Muslim invincibility.

It was Spain who distracted Britain. Any historian will confirm that Spain's importance in American independence was even more crucial than France's. Without its help, there would have been no independence. Period.
>>
>>18719807
80% of Spaniards are R1b-DF27....which arose in Hispania 4000 years ago which means that the very same people during celtic-tartessian-iberian times were the same than during Roman-Visigothic-Muslim-Reconquista and Conquista de America times.

The "culture" might have change but the people were the same. A nation it is its people and the people in Iberia are basically the same as 4000 years ago (except for the massive inmigration of the last 20 years).

>limited their capacity to easily
>morale was shattered
>boosted morale
>crushed the myth
None of these mean anything. They are statements undergrads would use to fill up the word requirement on an essay they do not know how to write. I said Charles Martel saved Europe from Islamization at Tours. Following his exploits, the Muslims did not attempt to invade Gaul again. The Reconquista may have saved Spain from Islamization, but if the Muslims were conducting campaigns in France after Covadonga, then it had not 'saved Europe from Islamization.' Since you are appealing to authority regarding the American Revolution, I will appeal to Edward Gibbons, Decline and Fall... Chapter LII, 'Defeat of the Saracens by Charles Martel, A.D. 732.'
>From such calamities was Christendom delivered by the genius and fortune of one man.
>Yet the victory of the Franks was complete and final; Aquitain was recovered by the arms of Eudes; the Arabs never resumed the conquest of Gaul, and they were soon driven beyond the Pyrenees by Charles Martel and his valiant race. (33) It might have been expected that the saviour of Christendom would have been canonized, or at least applauded, by the gratitude of the clergy, who are indebted to his sword for their present existence.

>Any historian will confirm

I have no money on this debate but the consensus among historians was that the battle of tours was little more than a failed arab raid rather than an attempt at conquest and islamization of France and subsequently the rest of the west. Including among French historians.

Theodosian was the worst emperor in Roman history kek the trinity killed Rome, not regular Christianity (Arian ie subordination).

Welp and I wonder why they stopped. Maybe because the Christian kingdoms in Spain were enough of a threat so they couldnt afford to go much farther in the north either

lol the trinity is the low iq version of Christianity invented by Alexander of Alexandria. Two years after Nicea Constantine accepted the Arian system as vastly superior and less retarded than the trinity system which was a low iq rework of Neoplatonism. Theodosian is the reason Rome fell, the collapse of Rome was due to sectarianism and the majority Christian Arian Roman population rather accepting Germanic gothic rule than trinitarian heathenry. Also Theodosian was a terrible commander.

The country is its people; its blood (shed). I know your brain is contaminated by modernity and liberalism (and therefore by arrogance and bad manners), but that modern idea of a country that you defend so much means nothing to me (it's what makes us have a Moroccan wearing that country's flag on his boots leading the Spanish national football team).

>>18720000
>I will appeal to Edward Gibbons, Decline and Fall... Chapter LII, 'Defeat of the Saracens by Charles Martel, A.D. 732.'
He said that if it weren't for Martel, they would have colonized Poland (that was the level...). Modern historiography is clear that Gibbon's vision was a gross exaggeration, biased and tainted by the romanticism so characteristic of his time (a Black Legend and anti-Christian sentiment too, of course), which completely ignores the Umayyad logistical limitations that made it impossible to settle further north, the limited number of permanent Arab troops, and the exhaustion of recruitment after decades of uninterrupted wars on the peninsula, as well as internal political fractures (such as the Berber revolts). It's simple: the events of 732 were not an occupation campaign but a plundering one. But "print the legend".
>>
>>18720000
>Provide one non-Hispanic historian who says Spain was more crucial than France.
Kathleen DuVal, J. Barton Starr, Light Townsend Cummins... American historiography, universities and official institutions (such as the American Historical Association, the Smithsonian, the Gilder Lehrman Institute, etc.) agree that the narrative mentioning France was an artificial political construct of the 19th century, and that data, documents, etc. demonstrate that Spain was the financial engine that allowed the birth of the United States, and that Spain's military intervention was a superior strategic blow to that of French troops in terms of territory conquered and British bases destroyed (such as the decisive capture of Pensacola).

Outside America too, of course... British scholar Nicholas Andrew Rodger explained in detail how Spain's entry into the conflict in 1779 decisively tipped the balance, forcing the British Royal Navy to abandon the American East Coast to defend the English Channel and the Caribbean, leaving its troops in the colonies completely vulnerable. Similarly, Canadian scholar David Marley rigorously analyzes how Spanish logistics and victories were superior in terms of economic strangulation for Great Britain. While the French operated intermittently, Spanish control of the Mississippi Delta and the Caribbean trade routes permanently cut off the supply of colonial timber and food that the British army desperately needed to sustain the war in the north.

So there is a consensus today that without Spain's silver, the economy of the Thirteen Colonies and the French armies would have collapsed before 1781; that without Spain's fleet, the British navy would have easily destroyed the French fleet; and that without Bernardo de Gálvez's military front, thousands of British soldiers would have marched from the south to crush George Washington.

In short, without Spain the American rebels (and the French) would have lost the war.

>then why do moorberians seethe about americans so much
Because instead of being grateful, they vilely stabbed us in the back to rob us not long after. They took advantage of our weakened state, weakened by the wars of independence and the civil wars of the 19th century, weakened by liberal traitors working for foreign interests, and with a false flag attack, they launched a plundering spree. A most dishonorable act.

And because they support Israel and Morocco, our enemy. Because they promoted the Green March when Franco died (cowards), because they killed Carrero Blanco (the most honorable) so that "democracy," drugs, and degeneration could destroy Spain... Because they threatened to take away the Canary Islands if we didn't join NATO (not officially, of course). Because they betrayed us in the Perejil conflict (they warned the Moroccans that the helicopters had taken off, even though Aznar got along well with Bush Jr...). And because without a doubt both Trump (who had my sympathy when he said he was going to drain the swamp, but ended up being swallowed by it) and Netanyahu are behind, along with the piss-stained fag Moroccan kingpin, the recent invasion of Ceuta that our trashy traitorous president refuses to resolve.
