He wasn't all wrong.
>>18720442He was a genius and had some interesting insights. But he was also an AGP and mentally ill.
>>18720469Slander
>>18720442He failed to propose a viable strategy for the regression towards a more spiritually nurturing and less mentally deranged form of civilization
>>18720442How would he have felt about AI?
>>18720547maybe pointing out the problem is still a step forward tho
>>18720469He wasn't mentally ill. He was a victim of CIA niggers and MKUltra experiments. But him being an AGP is kinda turn off, yeah, because who the fuck would want to be a foid desu.

>>18720442Scummy how the feds who tortured him demanded in his case that he plea insanity.Moral of the story: When federal agents do illegal shit, just pickup and leave.

>>18720442I think there's a distinct contrast between pre-internet technoskepticism and post-internet technoskepticism Pre-internet, it was safer to assume that technological progress is always a good thing on the basis of instrumentalism, or in other words, people sell technology as a product because they want to make money, people buy said product because they see a use for it. One could argue any found use cases for technology on a societal scale will, given enough time, be good. However, in the modern age, technology is no longer sold as product, as the users are now "the product" we get fed all the slop for free, companies make all the money, thus, there is no longer an instrumental element to technological progress. We cannot conclude given enough time that internet services will actually be useful because their core intent is be free services for people so companies can make money for themselves. Companies no longer need a sales pitch for their services because they don't cost money for the end user anymore, so technology can only be put forward in bad faith
how was everyone supposed to get on board with his idea?
>>18720931Good shit, brother Ted.
>>18721873You are the product, yes.
>>18720442Heraclitus claimed that everything is flux and that you could never walk into the same river twice
>>18720547TOTAL TECHNOLOGY DEATH is the only way, which is going to happen in one of the following ways- Earth runs out of oil or it becomes too expensive to be viable- Earth runs out of rare earths- Earth runs out of methane (for fertilezer)- Nuclear war- Any compination of the above and other disruptive eventsBasically any way to destroy or disrupt global trade, so that the whole fucked up system collapses as it should have a long time ago.
