I want to read more about what fits me. The number one thing I hate is ego/narcissism. People repeating slop phrases like "I'm a go-getter" or "I'm a firm believer in [insert generic belief everyone has here.]" Things like astrology where people truly believe they are branded as special by some gypsy scam is the best example I have of this. It ragebaits the fuck out of me every time. I hate people believing they are in any way special or apart from the chaff. I know how ironic it is to feel this way since I am essentially calling myself one of the special sheep but I dont care. I am not religious in any way and find religious people some of the most ragebaity in this manner.

I am environmentally minded. I think humans in an ideal world were put here to be essentially elves, caring for and ensuring the protection of nature and it's creatures. We have failed in this mission at an irreversible level.

Am I a buddhist

>Am I a buddhist
You're the opposite of a buddhist.
But you should Instead believe in your creator and look into Islamic spirituality
>Jihad al-nafs : the struggle against one’s own lower self—is considered the “greater jihād” in Islamic spirituality. It is the lifelong effort to resist ego, desires, and heedlessness, turning instead toward obedience and sincerity. Closely tied to this is tazkiyah (purification), the process of cleansing the heart from arrogance, envy, and greed while nurturing virtues like humility, patience, and taqwa (God‑consciousness/telos). Together, jihād al‑nafs and tazkiyah form the inner battlefield of the believer: by disciplining the soul and refining character, one draws nearer to God and attains true success (falāḥ) in both this world and the Hereafter.

And to answer this,
>I think humans in an ideal world were put here to be essentially elves, caring for and ensuring the protection of nature and it's creatures.

>In Islam, this resonates strongly with the concept of khilāfah (stewardship), where humanity is entrusted by God to act as caretakers of the earth. The Qur’an describes humans as khulafāʾ fī al‑arḍ (vicegerents on earth), responsible for maintaining balance and protecting the trust (amānah) of creation.

That's good philosophy but I view the belief in a diety like that as inherently egotistical because you are choosing to believe that a supremely all-powerful being created you as the perfect lifeform. A lot of abrahamic faiths specifically mention the human form as being "superior" to all other forms of life as it was created in God's own image. I think my gift as a human was the consciousness granted to me through nature and that it has been wasted inflicting needless suffering and destruction upon this world.

Philosophers deal with modes of argument, not feeling good or the content of ideas. Yes I did just suggest you need to get fucked in the arse not because you'll enjoy it, but because it is the highest good that people like you get fucked in the arsehole.

>inherently egotistical because believe that a supremely all-powerful being created you as the perfect lifeform
slight misreading of our theology, where God is transcendently distinct from his creation.
>There is nothing like unto Him (42:11)
So we never make a comparison, or in our arrogance view ourselves as the "image of God".

We are created upon a purity/fitrah (internal disposition towards God) with distinct capacities for learning and reasoning. But we are flawed, weak, and prone to self-destruction.
>Allah would make the burden light for you, for man was created weak. (Quran 4:28)
Our distinction is that we carry the burden of Amanah (Trust). It's the capacity, or higher consciousness (as you mentioned), to reason and choose the way animals cannot.
In Islam, all of creation instinctly prostrates to God/divine order, but not man chooses.
>and his soul, we inspired it [to know] its own rebellion and piety! (91:8).

In Surah Al-Ahzab, Quran describes this moral agency was offered to the universe, and everyone else refused it out of fear (of the consequences).
>Lo! We offered the Trust unto the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they shrank from bearing it and were afraid of it. And man assumed it. Lo! He hath proved a tyrant and a fool." (Quran 33:72)
It calls humanity "tyrannical and foolish" for taking on this capacity, precisely because the ability to choose good carries an equal capacity for destruction, arrogance, and self-delusion.
But accountability before the Creator only exists because we have the power to wrong.

Using God to feel inherently superior to nature is pure ego (kibr). Humans arent expected to be a "perfect lifeform". Righteousness is about maintaining humility and constantly seeking forgiveness and atonement,
>By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and replace you with a people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness" (Sahih Muslim 2749)
