If the Septuagint is older than the Masoretic, why do we use Bibles translated from the Masoretic? Why isn't the Septuagint more popular?
>>18732128Because the Masoretic Text was the one that became canonized by 7th century Rabbi, and Christianity is just a Jewish Apostate movement so naturally they're going to favor whatever Rabbi say
>>18732128Because Septuagint-onlyists are LARPers
>>18732128Because like with all decisions regarding judeochristian scripture it's just arbitrary what gets included or not, purely depending on the feefees of some old fart. Early Christians including the authors of the 4 gospels all used the Septuagint later Christians say they were wrong
>>18732135Religion is fundamentally LARP but in this case itโs better to use the book the original Christians weโre using rather a different book from a thousand years later written by a competing LARP group
