Abrahamicists:
With no due disrespect, how do you cope with the fact that there is literally zero evidence for the existence of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, etc?
That there is no written or archeological evidence for the stories of Genesis and Exodus, despite centuries of looking for it and the fact that Ancient Egyptians kept meticulous records on all their famines, plagues, wars, foreign slaves, important figures?
Or the fact that Genesis claims the Israelites arrived in Canaan as foreigners from Ur, despite the genetic evidence suggesting they were always native to Canaan?
Or the fact Genesis mentions Philistines, Hittites, Chaldeans - all groups that existed by Canaan in the time that Genesis was written, but did not yet exist as people groups during the time it was set?

It's an interesting text of myths but all of it is at odds with historical and archeological fact. You cannot believe in both science and the literal truth of these books.

The silence ITT speaks volumes.

Of course there's no proof that an elephant man with 50 arms lives in the sky, either, OP, yet here we are.

Actually we did actually find the historical basis(s) for the Exodus. But Jews, Christians, and Muslims didn’t like it, so now they try to pretend they're completely unrelated.
>Hyksos
They were a semitic peoples from the Levant who conquered Egypt in the 17th century BC and ruled over as their 15th dynasty before eventually getting expelled around 1550 BC. Many scholars believe that the Exodus is based on a cultural memory of the Hyksos’ expulsion (in-reverse) and that the Hyksos were one of the groups who contributed to the ethnogenesis of the Israelites. There was even a Hyksos pharaoh named Yakub who is likely the historical basis for Jacob.
>Shasu of Yahweh
They were a nomadic tribe from Midian who apparently worshiped Yahweh. Around the 12th century BC, a Shasu warlord named Irsu invaded Egypt, plundered their temples, and “treated the gods as men” (i.e. forbidding their worship). Eventually the Shasu were expelled to the Levant and there they contributed to the ethnogenesis of the Israelites and imported the worship of Yahweh. The Greco-Egyptian historian Manetho recorded all this in his Aegyptiaca and explicitly equated Irsu (whose name he rendered in Greek as Osarseph) with Moses and while his account did conflate the Shasu of Yahweh with the Hyksos, it’s still far more accurate to history than the Biblical account.
>Atenism
Around the 14th century, pharaoh Amenhotep IV changed his name to Akhenaten and instituted an early form of monotheism centered around Aten in an attempt to centralize power and strip traditional priesthoods of their influence. His reforms were undone immediately after his death, but we have reasons to believe that Atenist priests fled to the Levant and contributed to the development of Jewish monotheism given how damn similar Psalm 104 is to the Great Hymn to Aten.

It’s covenantal generative geometry, nothing more.

>no written or archeological evidence
You mean other than the recorded written evidence we already have? What archeological evidence would you expect to find?
>>
>>18734054
>other than the recorded written evidence we already have?
Name one piece of written evidence that supports these claims that isn't the Bible

>Name one piece of written evidence that supports these claims that isn't the Bible
Why?
>>
>>18734078
You just claimed there's evidence.
I'm asking for it.
>>
>>18734054
>What archeological evidence would you expect to find?
Where are the remains of the Egyptian army that drowned in the Red Sea for a start?
Where are the ruins of the tower of Babel?
Where are the Hittite ruins in Canaan?
Where are the Egyptian writings talking about Joseph the Israelite and dream interpreter and the famines he avoided, about the Jewish slaves and the plagues and Moses?
Egyptians wrote about the events in their world, at least the stuff that happened in reality.
>>
>>18734079
No, I'm asking why we are excluding the primary written evidence.

>>18734100
Let's say that we were able to dig up physical evidence for all of those things. Would that convince you that the Bible is true?
>>
>>18734107
>No, I'm asking why we are excluding the primary written evidence.
The Bible isn't historical evidence for anything more than the Odyssey or Bhagavad-Gita is. It's a book of mythology.
I'm not going to waste my time playing bullshit word games with you on this.
You will not find a historian on the planet who claims Genesis is a valid historical source.

>Let's say that we were able to dig up physical evidence for all of those things. Would that convince you that the Bible is true?
You won't dig up evidence for it because you've already searched and there none.
But let's say you found archeological evidence for the claims made in the Old Testament books.
No that wouldn't prove that the Abrahamic faiths are true, only that their writings weren't entirely based on fully fictional events.
But like you already know, zero evidence for the Old Testament myths has ever been found.
That's despite countless millions of hours and dollars spent searching by Christian, Jewish, and Muslim believers.

>The Bible isn't historical evidence for anything more than the Odyssey or Bhagavad-Gita is. It's a book of mythology.
If it's just a mythology, then why are you asking for archeological evidence?

>>18734125
>No that wouldn't prove that the Abrahamic faiths are true
If you have already made up your mind regardless of evidence or a lack thereof, then why are you asking for evidence?
>>
>>18733709
I'm sorry but Abrahamicists? You should use the western approved term Judeochristianity and Islam.
Abraham was a muslim and offered prayer to one God.
>>
>>18733709
You don't know what evidence is. Next?
>>
>>18733709
I presume they cope the same way Buddhists cope with zero evidence of the Buddha, Hindu's cope with zero evidence of Rama, Pagans cope with there being no evidence that Perseus slew a Medusa etc. It's religion. People are just gonna cope and ignore the blatant bullshit..

I love showing them the evidence that God doesn't exist. It destroys their entire argument.

>Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph
fantasies
>Moses
most likely a fantasy, but could have had a prototype
>Exodus
probably the distorted memory of the Canaanite colonists banished from Egypt after Hyksos lost

This is a piece of an ancient vase found in Israel with the inscription: Jerubbaal. Jerubbaal is Gideon's nickname given to him by his father after he destroyed the altar of Baal

Didn't God literally tell him to establish the state of Israel and genocide the Palestinians? Sounds jewish to me.

There is a tablet with the list of Uruk's kings. One of the names is Gilgamesh.
