>Embargo Japan of oil to prevent a possible Japanese invasion of the USSR, force Japan to focus on the southern plan, and sacrifice thousands of American lives in the process. >Gave billions of dollars in lend lease to the Soviets virtually free of charge.>Denied Soviet atrocities and painted Stalin as a good guy.>Handed all of Eastern Europe to the Soviets on a silver platter and silenced Churchill’s opposition to the idea. The U.S. was practically a Soviet satellite state under FDR until Truman stepped in. World War 2 is not a war that the American people should be proud of.
>>18752053Not a communist, but it was unironically a very based choice. If the Nazis were to succeed, the communists could have blamed all their failures on the Capitalist boogeyman, letting it die naturally (while also being so nice to ruin all of Eastern Europe and doom Russia's potential to ever become a long term superpower for us Western folks) ensured that the Ideology itself fully decays with no way for communists to rehabilitate themselves. As for America, they chose Communism, they get communism and the ethnic replacement. America has to die for civilisation to thrive and the outcome of our timeline ensures that they will fully eradicate themselves from the face of worth with no pushback.
>>18752053WW2 in europe had been going on for about 27/28 months when America joined the war. It had been in large part a war between fascism and communism for about 5 of those 27/28 months, and if you count from Japan invading China this gets more drastic. Before that they were supporting the UK and France and China against Germany and Italy and Japan, some perfectly sensible horse backing in a great power contest. When the USSR ended up in the war they were in way too deep with one side to even think about changing sides, and even then why should they want to. The very thing that you think should make them want to-the USSR being invaded and brought into the war, also ultimately put the Axis in a far worse, more hopeless situation for all the tactical triumphs of 1941. Essentially, having already picked a side in a great power conflict short of outright declaring war, you think something ultimately favourable to their current side should have made them start the enormous techtonic diplomatic process of switching sides. And they have to do in just a few months in a way the Japanese believe otherwise Pearl Harbour still happens and they have to go with the allies. It is weird and funny for the western allies to have ended up fighting with communists against capitalist states, but its not baffling. When you look at what events happened in what order its really clear how they ended up in that position in a way that couldn't really be avoided, and from their perspective shouldn't have been, based on where they already were when the Germans invaded the USSR. How they reacted from that point made them the US the most powerful country in the world, far better off than you could really imagine them ending up if they'd backed the Axis.
>>18752140America falling to communism still isn’t a sure thing yet.
>>18752140They aren't communist, they're considerably less so than all of Europe and they aren't close to dying. Short of a meteor or a mega mega tsunami a country like America doesn't just die >B-but..No
>>18752053Wtf I didn't know America used to be so based
