Is the Terror their idea of the final endgame or could it be even worse? When the same groups did the Commie revolutions a hundred years later they watered down some of the overtly Satanic stuff from the French Revolution. But we can see even with something like the BLM shit that they are still out for nothing but blood and the total reversing of everything Good.

>overtly Satanic stuff
No such thing, you are simply coping and seething that inbred nepostist monarchs who oppressed France for millennia got what they deserved
>>
>>18752742
Robespierre was many times a worse tyrant than Louis. You don’t need to like absolutism to recognize French Republicans were awful, and still continue to be looking at the state of the country. The moderate Anglo approach to Republics/Parliamentarianism has always been better.

they did sex and blood rituals in churches while lauding Lucifer for his rebellion. Not to mention they went from a Cult of Reason to a Cult of Supreme Being, very odd, would make more sense to go the other way no?

As far as oppression, the population of Paris was cut in half after four years! And now look at France, how's that going? Belle Epoque was nice ok but how long did that last?
>>
>>18752756
There's no point trying to explain this to seething lower-middle class midwits, who know they are better than the brutes who hence grotesquely overrate their own worth. Such people will always gravitate to and tirelessly exculpate Robespierreism. I think these people will always exist, for as long as there are humans.
>>
>>18752770
>hey did sex and blood rituals in churches
Man I wonder what totally reliable source you dug this up from.

There are so many legitimate reasons to despise the revolution for its excesses but you hysterical ninnies have to invent nonsense like this to make it feel special.

Victor Hugo openly praised the blaspheme, it was their main goal to venerate Lucifer

1) no it wasn't
2) would be great if it had been

The Catholic Church was forcefully informed it didn't get to exter totalitarian control over everyone while owning serfs anymore and trad-caths have never gotten over it.
>Is the Terror their idea of the final endgame or could it be even worse?
It was only the beginning.
>>18752756
Robespierre kind of had the popular mandate and was by no means a dictator, but let's not minimize the excesses of the terror; they were bad. Louis still had to die, though.

For the record, this is because he attempted to betray France to a foreign enemy, not because he was a king. People always forget he was executed for prison.

Illuminist propaganda. A Catholic army is not foreign

Whatever father Berrochio, don't you have some peasants to extort?

Much worse. If you want to see what the most violent revolution imaginable would look like, look at what Pol Pot did in Cambodia.

Why do the leftist fucks here find this so unbelievable? Ever since LaVey we have seen open Satanists repeat the same shit
>we do devil worship, but only ironically as a parody so its okay >:)

like, why is it far fetch that this same shit didnt happen in 1790s france?
This was also the same era where a frenchman wrote one of the earliest BDSM sex novels.

its not far fetched lmao

>His basic idea was that of a conspiracy with the aim of overthrowing Christianity—or more to the point, any and all forms of political and social organization based on conformity to the moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Barruel's conspiracy is notable for suggesting an association between the Occult, the French Enlightenment, and Freemasons. He thereby associated Paganism with Enlightenment thought, a trend followed by some later reactionary thinkers and even contemporary intellectual historians.

This was at the time people knew what was happening

>people who experienced true Calvinism being attempted on them, their families, their barnyard animals and their homes don't embrace their chance to create a Protestant national church

Huh.

Both can be true at the same time. And Louis was unironically a good person who did not deserve it.
>>
>>18756208
Revolutions are a referendum on the state of the Nation, and the treatment of the masses by the system, not a congeniality contest.

Also, if you break the existing social order, the whackadoodles will ALWAYS run amuck and try to make their fantasies a reality for a while. Have a big enough protest, a certain % will set fires and loot, even if that's counterproductive to the protest itself. Even a thrilling sportsball win will bring out the Chaos-cravers.

If by idolatry you mean tearing down catholic altars, invading churches and building shrines to philosophy... Absolutely. These are pretty well recorded events, where the 'enlightened' revolutionaries indulged in a kind joyful destruction of the old iconography of the previous state, and some of the festivals involved provocatively dressed women who would indulge in mocking the old Christian symbols. You can see in Charles-Louis Müller's painting La fête de la raison à Notre-Dame de Paris le 10 novembre 1793 that a woman dressed as Hellenistic goddess in a provocative outfit (for the time period) is stamping on the face of Christ while she rides aloft in a kind of litter.
We have quote from Thomas Carlyle on similar events:
>"The Senate over; Convention and Municipality muster for Notre-Dame itself; whither in long transition, signalized by black nightcaps as caps of Liberty they go. There a high Altar is wiped out; a Mountain of carpentry, lifted as high as the sanctuary, is built; on the summit of which rises a Temple of Philosophy...
>A Goddess of Reason is seated; a Goddess who is not even a statue but a ‘living image,’ some Opera-girl or the like; selected by Municipality and Herébert, to receive the congratulations of all.
>Mrs. Momoro, it is admitted, made one of the best Goddesses of Reason, though her teeth were a little defective.
>And so, while ballet-girls flit around her, and torch-fires burn on the Mountain, the Sections of Paris, and all that can squeeze in, come singing..."
So definitely blasphemous by design, rude and impudent with a kind of sick glee (similar to the way BLM defaced monuments during their riots), but not exactly a satanic blood orgy.
There would've been plenty of blood in the streets already. I have no doubt that some Jacobins were privately into some sick shit, they were all unmarried young men who drank and whored day and night and fumbled through historical cults and philosophies..but there's no record as far as I know

Right. But if you go back to the Protestant Reformation, they also tore down Catholic stuff because they viewed the Catholics as engaging in idolatry.

>Freemasons
It's interesting you bring them up, because I'm reading a book about the Texas Revolution and a fascinating thing is that the main guy, Stephen F. Austin, was involved in Freemasonry in Mexico City when he was an empresario there. Mexico declared independence from Spain and set up a constitutional republic, but the politics of the place was essentially done through rival liberal and conservative Masonic lodges. The conservatives won out and established a more centralized state with Catholicism as the state religion, but the political divisions were more 50/50 so the country was unstable. The liberal federalists wanted a system more like the U.S., which was shared by the Anglo settlers who were moving into Texas.

If you think about Bill the Butcher, he's violently anti-Catholic and people see this as just chud nativism now but a big aspect of how Bill saw himself was an O.G. American revolutionary patriot fighting against some centralized / conservative / monarchical, crown-and-altar thing.
