I've noticed that the US has very White and very religious girls who seem to belong to a specific religious group. Where do they come from? Are they Protestant or do they belong to a specific denomination? I say this because they seem to share a certain look, keeping their hair long and wearing long sweaters, long skirts, and simple shoes.

>>18753399Speaking in tongues, faith healing, shit like that. It's a charismatic church.
>>18753371With the long skirts/dress, it could be anything. This is standard modest dress you'll see in any church that isn't non-denom (who usually dress in normal every day clothes). Catholics, Methodists, Baptists, Mormons, JWs, Pentecostals, Mennonites, etc. You'll find it everywhere. The long hair in particular is a Oneness Pentecostal thing, who are not to be confused with standard trinitarian Pentecostals. They are very different, as you should be able to tell by Oneness not being trinitarians.

>>18753399Had a girlfriend that was Pentecostal. The church claimed to be based on the their version of sola scriptura, except dogma varied between the various groups. Mostly it was whatever the pastor proclaimed to the particular congregation.Lots of speaking in tongues during services, spontaneous revelations and declarations of being overcome by Jesus. Basically service was about 50% whipping the crowd into a mass hysteria which from a psychological standpoint feeds upon itself. I actually learned a lot from attending from that angle, it was really pretty impressive how once a few people get going in the congregation, more lose their inhibition and join in until you have people uncontrollably screaming, yelling, laughing, and crying. Like, huge implications from conducting political rallies or just motivational speaking in general. People partially shut their brains off to some degree.LOTS of church service throughout the week. Almost every weeknight is spent at church doing a bible study or what have you. Lack of participation in secular things or activities with non-Pentecostals, but not to the degree of Jahovas. Also, parishioners tithing 20%+ of their income and indirect shame to those who didn't. Really annoyed me how my girlfriend could talk about her pastor's "good fortune" and multi-million dollar investments in the market and not admit a lot of that was directly because the church was paying him a quarter million a year. Almost like a miniature megachurch/prosperity preacher with a different angle.
