There can be no magic or witches because it is impossible for creatures to have independent supernatural powers to influence the created order. Only God can do this. Witchcraft is forbidden in scripture not because it is real but because it is linked with idolatry, superstition, and ascribing powers to creatures that only God has. What about the Witch of Endor you may say? Well, assuming that this story in scripture is truly historical and literal, the Witch of Endor did not possess any supernatural power on her own. The shade that Saul witnessed was either an illusion, either from the witch herself, or from a demon, or God merely permitted the soul of Samuel to under his providential care to appear to Saul. This is the Augustinian view. All in all, ghosts do not exist. Witches don't exist. The occult isn't real. Magic isn't real. Christians shouldn't fear these things because they don't exist. Christians can happily watch movies about magic, like Harry Potter, because it's all pure fiction and entertainment. None of it is real. We should respect the natural order and look for natural explanations for most phenomena we observe in the world.
