The Nicolaitans held a radically negative view of the law, a position later termed antinomianism (literally "against the law"). According to early church writings, they believed that the moral laws of scripture no longer applied to believers. They taught that grace gave believers a license to indulge the flesh without losing their standing or fellowship with God.

They believed that because they were spiritually "saved" or possessed higher spiritual knowledge, their physical actions could not defile them. The early church father Irenaeus noted that heretical groups with similar mindsets viewed themselves like gold. Just as gold thrown into the mud does not lose its beauty or value, they believed their spiritual status could not be stained by physical sin.

They actively rejected the decrees of the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15), which explicitly commanded Gentile Christians to abstain from sexual immorality, eating blood, defiled meat and food offered to idols. The Nicolaitans viewed these restrictions as unnecessary burdens that infringed on their freedom.

In short, they didn't just believe the law was powerless to save a person; they believed the law was entirely obsolete, leading them to preach and practice absolute moral compromise with the surrounding pagan culture.

John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

JW's do not obey the gospel, they don't believe that Jesus Christ is The Lord God in the flesh. They just believe that Jesus Christ is "a god" due to their corrupted translations of the Bible. That's why you are criticized.

John 8:24
“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”

Rom. 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth THE LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:16
“But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?”

John 20:28 - 20:29
"And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

Hosea 13:4
“Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.”

Matthew 1:21
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Salvation is by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8-9, given by God, Romans 10:8, 17) only in the one, final, effectual sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ (Heb. 10:8-12) dying in your place (1 Cor. 15:3-4) as a substitutionary offering for sin (Rom. 5:1-10). His blood atonement made for you is finished (Rom. 3:23-25), so if you have received the Lord Jesus by faith (John 1:12) in your heart, you're forgiven of all your sins and are saved, once for all; finally and forever! (Rom. 8:38-39, Rom. 4:5)

It's simple, there is One Lord:

Ephesians 4:4 - 4:5
"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism,"

Isaiah 9:6, 7, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given… and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and My Father are one.” In this text Jesus as man was born but Jesus as God was “given.” (God always existed.)

Matt. 4:10, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.”

Matthew 4:7: “Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

Philip 2:5-8: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

The "original scripts" you're referring to, the Alexandrian texts which the modern "Bibles" are translated from Egypt, not from Israel. They are twisted by gnostics like origen and are far from "original". The KJV is from Textus Receptus which is over 5000 copies of texts, and uses The Byzantine Text which is from Antioch where the first Christians originated from (Acts 11:26).

The modern "Bibles" have errors and contradictions unlike the KJV. The KJV is not corrupted. Here's just some examples of some blatant contradictions from your "original Greek Scriptures" (allegedly).

2 Samuel 21:19
Goliath was beheaded by David over 30 chapters ago in 1 Samuel 17:51. While the underlying Hebrew also says “Goliath”, the correct reading “brother of Goliath” is confirmed by the parallel passage in 1 Chronicles 20:5.

Mark 1:2
Mark quotes two prophets, starting with Malachi 3:1 in Mark 1:2 before proceeding to quote Isaiah 40:3 in Mark 1:3. Modern Bibles suggest that Mark identified Malachi’s writing as Isaiah’s, which is an obvious error.

Hebrews 3:16
Modern Bibles suggest all Israel provoked the Lord and were not able to enter the promised land. However, Joshua and Caleb did not provoke the Lord (Numbers 14:22-24), nor did others, according to the KJB, such as Eleazar the priest, who also entered the promised land (Numbers 3:32, Joshua 21:1).

Genesis 27:39
In the KJB, Isaac blessed Esau. But in modern translations, he curses him, contradicting the Holy Ghost in Hebrews 11:20, which reads: By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

Heres more examples you can check yourself, and see just how corrupt your modern "Bible" is. The site is https://kjvcompare.com/

Hebrews 2:14, Luke 2:33, Deuteronomy 22:28, Galatians 4:1, Genesis 22:17, Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:1

This should be clear enough evidence. God makes no mistakes. So will you submit to the truth, or do you truth to be subject to you?

Eph 4:4-5

There is only one Lord, so why do Jehova's witnesses say they have 2 lords to worship? It's one Lord, not 2. That means Jesus Christ has to be the same as Jehovah God.

John 4:24 NWT God is a spirit

2 Cor 3:17-18 NWT translation Jehovah is the Spirit (Do you think Jehovah is the spirit?)

Acts 5:3-4 Lying to The Holy Spirit = Lying to God

Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of Jehovah saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” (Us) And Genesis 1:26

Matthew 1:23 With Us Is God.

>>18756667
>There is only one Lord

Yeah, Jesus

>so why do Jehova's witnesses say they have 2 lords to worship?

Jehovah delegated lordship of the church to Jesus. Hence we have one Lord and one God

>Jehovah is the Spirit (Do you think Jehovah is the spirit?)

Figuratively yes

>Acts 5:3-4 Lying to The Holy Spirit = Lying to God

Correct, since the Holy Spirit is Jehovah’s active force

>Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of Jehovah saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” (Us)

Yes, there are several characters in this passage, including Jesus.

>Matthew 1:23 With Us Is God.

Yes, Jesus is God’s spokesman

Where do any of the verses say that the Father and the Son are one God ?
>>
>So we agree Jesus and God are distinct ?

In order to be the Savior, Jesus had to be not only Divine and virgin-born, but He must also be a true man. He was like us in every respect except sinful.

I Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man
(human) Christ Jesus.”

Jesus had to be made like unto us in order to be a “faithful high priest in things pertaining to God.” (Hebrews 2:17).

Jesus was born under the law that He might redeem us from the law, Galatians 4:4, 5, I Corinthians 15:21.

Just because Jesus has this human side, doesn't delete the fact that He is God.

Philipp 2:5-8: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

>Jehovah delegated lordship of the church to Jesus.
Jehova is The Lord.

Psalms 110:1, “The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit Thou at My right hand until I make
Thine enemies Thy footstool.” (“The Lord, the Father, God, said to my Lord, the
Savior…”)

Jesus referred to this passage in Matthew 22:41-46; Mark 12:35-36; Luke 20:39-44.

John 10:30: Jesus said: “I and My Father are one.”

John 20:28 - 20:29
"And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

Why do you keep ignoring that Jesus is not just Lord, He is THE LORD: "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. " (Acts 16:31)

>"And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

Where does Thomas say that the Father and the Son are one God?

>Why do you keep ignoring that Jesus is not just Lord, He is THE LORD: "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. " (Acts 16:31)

Yes, he is the Lord created and appointed by the Father who is Almighty God. What is your point ?
>>
>>18756743
Thomas calls Jesus God. Jesus approves.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" (I Tim 2:5)

There is only one God. Jesus is God. The Father is God. There is only one God.

There is only one God, look:

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" (I Tim 2:5)

The word 'god' can describe several characters in the Bible, with various senses and in various degrees.

'God' (El/Theos) basically means "powerful one".

It can be used of angels (Psalm 8:5), prophets (Exodus 7:1), human judges (Psalm 82:6), kings (Psalm 45:6) and even Satan (2 Corinthians 4:4)

Moses was called god because God gave him the power to accomplish miracles in front of pharaoh.
Judges were called gods because they had authority over Israel.
Jesus is called god because he is a mighty being, who was granted rulership in heaven and on earth.

When it says there is only one God it is the sense of being the eternal, omniscient and omnipotent Creator. And I agree that only ONE person fits this description: Jehovah.

So where does Thomas say Jesus is Jehovah ?
>>

https://carm.org/does-the-bible-identify-jesus-as-jehovah

“For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9).

Philippians 2 goes on to make it quite clear that Jesus did not merely exist as a divine, god-like creation, but that He is Jehovah God Himself. Paul goes on to say:

“So that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).

Here, Paul is applying to Jesus the words from Isaiah, where Jehovah Himself says:

“I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance,” (Isaiah 45:23).

Jehovah swore by His own name that every knee would bow and every tongue will confess His own Lordship. Paul says that this oath of God will be fulfilled in every knee bowing and every tongue confessing that Jesus is Lord. Again, Jesus is identified as YHWH, the LORD, Jehovah. The whole passage, of course, distinguishes between the Father and Son. The Son voluntarily submits to the Father, the Father exalts the Son, and the Son glorifies the Father. They are two distinct persons, yet they are both Jehovah God. This is what Christians have always believed. This is, again, an expression of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity.

Not a JWanon, but I like to read Thomas' and Jesus' post-resurrection interaction in light of the earlier discussion involving Thomas and Philip in John 14, where Jesus says, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father." Even trinitarians wouldn't say that this means Jesus *is* the Father, since the divine persons are distinct. Instead, I believe it refers to Jesus' role as the perfect image of God, as he is called a few times in the epistles. If Jesus is the image of God, then there's a sense in which properly seeing Jesus is seeing God, but this doesn't mean Jesus is God, in the same way that seeing someone's reflection in a mirror doesn't mean that the reflection is the person being reflected.

So, when Thomas says, "My Lord and my God," this would be because he is seeing both of them, his Lord Jesus, the image of God, and, through Jesus, as through a reflection, the Father who is truly God. And Jesus would confirm this by his response acknowledging that Thomas has seen him, referring back to John 14, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father (also)".

The Bible tells us that there is only one God in all existence (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6,8). However, it also mentions “other gods.” For example, there is Adrammelech and Anammelech (2 Kings 17:31), Asherah (1 Kings 18:19), Baal (Judges 3:7), Chemosh (Num. 21:29), Dagon (1 Sam. 5:2), Molech (Lev. 18:21; 20:2-5), etc. The Bible is not contradicting itself. When the Bible speaks of other gods it is speaking of false gods that have no true existence. Gal. 4:8 says, “Formerly when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.” See also, Isaiah 37:19 and Jeremiah 2:11. God tells us that he alone is the true God and that all of the invented gods of man do not exist except in their own minds. So, we can see that the Bible is not contradicting itself regarding how many gods there are in existence. There is only one.

Note: in the verses in Genesis that have God saying “Let us make…, Let us go down . . . , etc.” are clues to the Trinitarian nature of God. God is a Trinity of persons: a Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There are not three Gods, but one. There are those who insist that the Trinity is polytheistic. But it is not. Trinitarians believe in a single being who is God.

John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and My Father are one.”

Jesus responded to Satan when he was tempting Him: Matthew 4:7: “Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

There no such thing a Jesus being "a god" when it clearly said "God".

The five works of God are ascribed to Jesus – creation, preservation, forgiveness, raising the dead, and judgment – John 1:3; Hebrews 1:3; Mark 7:48; John 6:39; John 5:22.

Jesus is God.

It doesn't matter ow you try to wiggle out of these verses or give different meanings to what Thomas meant when he called Jesus God, the truth is clear.

Jesus is the Word who is God.

John 1:1-2, John 1:14

Spiritual beings refer to angels, demons, and the like.

They inhabit the heavenly realm, which is parallel to our earthly reality.

Now all of these spiritual beings have their own unique characteristics, but the biblical authors have one word that can refer to all the inhabitants of the spiritual realm. In Hebrew, the word is “Elohim.” In Greek, it is “Theos.”

But here is the thing: this word gets translated in lots of different ways, depending on which being is referred to: angels, god with a lowercase “g,” or even God with a capital “G.”

So one word can refer to any of these beings. That is because Elohim is a category title. It can designate any spiritual being that belongs to the heavenly realm. So it's a title, not a name.

It's kinda like the word ‘mom’! The word ‘mom’ can refer to lots of really different kinds of people, but they all share in common the same role in a family. And then, let’s say a group of brothers and sisters are talking and one says, ‘Hey, it’s Mom’s birthday!’ They’re using the title like it’s a name. But it would be clear that they are referring not to any mom, but their mom.

And the same goes for the biblical authors. They called their God ‘JEHOVAH’. But they also sometimes refer to him with the category title ‘Elohim,’ using it like a name because they all know who they are referring to.”

JEHOVAH is in a class of his own, not like any other. Which is why they say things like, ‘JEHOVAH is the Elohim of Elohim’ (that is, the chief Elohim among all the others). Or they will say, ‘There is no Elohim besides JEHOVAH,’ meaning no other spiritual being compares to him because only he is the ruler and creator of all things.

>Jesus responded to Satan when he was tempting Him: Matthew 4:7: “Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
Again, not the JW anon, and, come on, that one's really obviously not intended to be read that way. It's said in the second of three tests the devil gives to Jesus, where in each case Jesus responds with a scripture relevant to the test. If what he meant was that the devil shouldn't tempt Jesus, he would've said it at the beginning, and that would've been it. But instead he says it in response to the devil telling Jesus to throw himself off the roof of the temple because God will save him. Clearly the Father is the God Jesus is saying shouldn't be tempted (tested) in this way, not himself.

“I, even I, am the Lord [YHWH}; And there is no savior besides Me,” (Isaiah 43:11).

Matthew 1:21
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Jesus said in John 8:24, “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.”
>>
>>18756893 (cont.)
And btw Jesus being called Lord by itself doesn't make him God, or even Yahweh (though I do believe Jesus is given the name Yahweh -- John 17:11 -- which is still different from him being God).

As it says in Mark 12, quoting Psalm 110,
>David himself, by the Holy Spirit, declared, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.” ’ “David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?” And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.
In Psalm 110, only the first "Lord" is a substitute for Yahweh, while the second "Lord" is just the word "Lord," not a substitute for anything.

>“I and the Father are one. Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, ‘I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?’ ‘We are not stoning you for any of these,’ replied the Jews, ‘but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.'”
You can say, “See, even the Jews knew He was claiming to be God. You agree with the Pharisees, Jesus wasn’t God? Is that correct?

>The following group of scriptures strongly suggests a plurality within the Godhead. Gen. 1:26 Col. 1:15-17 Isaiah 44:24

>Gen. 19:24, “Then the LORD [Jehovah] rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD [Jehovah] out of heaven.”

>Amos 4:10-11 Jehovah is the one talking, and He says, “I overthrew you as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah…” Very interesting.

>John 20:25 The Jehovah’s Witnesses deny that Jesus was crucified on a cross. They say it happened on a torture stake where His wrists were put together over His head, and a single nail was put through both. If that is true, then why does Thomas say “Unless I shall see in His hands the imprint of the nails…” In the Greek the word used here for “nails,” helos, is in the plural. Therefore, there was more than one nail used in the hands

>How many firsts and lasts are there? In the Bible, God is called the first and last and so is Jesus. Since God says there is no God apart from Him and Jesus and God are both addressed by the same title, then that poses a problem for the Jehovah’s Witness. Isaiah 44:6, Revelation 1:8, Revelation 1:17-18,

>Obviously, Rev. 1:17-18 can only refer to Jesus.
Revelation 22:12-13, “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to every one according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

>Titus 2:13 says that Jesus is the one who is coming soon; therefore, Jesus and Jehovah are the same.
