They're descendants of dirt poor gallegos and rural people who arrived in the late 18th-19th centuries along with whatever local indios they mixed with.mexico went through many social reforms and shifts in labor demands over centuries. I don't know why everyone assumes every single Spaniard that went to the Americas was part of the elite.
