How was life under the Romans and Persians? Was it better before the Caliphate?
>>
>>18769201
no not really, this is the real answer.
anyone who says otherwise are just larpagans
>>
>>18769201
The islamic expansions was a reconquista, kicked those anfcucks out
>>
>>18769201
Generally worse in all regards. The Arabs were actively hostile to the people they ruled, they introduced arbitrary taxation, and taxed at even higher rates than the centralised Roman state did, but the people got none of the benefits that the Roman state tried to provide. It's estimated that the tax rate in 8th century Egypt was higher than 6th century Egypt.
Locals lost all political power, autonomy and chances of advancing their careers, if anybody wanted to move higher in life, they left to Anatolia or Constantinople where the opportunities existed for them as the Arabs had a tiny administration made up solely by their own. The only beneficiaries of the Caliphate's rule was the Arab clans and tribes that were granted taxation rights and the Caliph himself. This wealth wasn't used to uphold public infrastructure or in municipal gifts as the Roman state did but effectively never left private hands outside of military affairs or single patronised cities, much like what happened under Germanic rulers in the West.

Religious affairs deteriorated significantly. While issues existed with the Roman state and the Egyptian Church, they largely tried to reconcile and were never in schism. Emperors actively tried to work out a common solution for centuries and continued to do so despite the failures. The Arabs frankly didn't care. Both the Syrian and Egyptian Churches were crushed and lost much of their influence and wealth and lost ties with the greater Christian world under Arab rule. Christians were intermittently persecuted, although it was rarely a sustained assault.

Trade collapsed with the Mediterranean world, most of the urban centers which were not already major under the Roman state disintegrated as the general prosperity and economy of the region contracted. Major cities survived from inertia and in part patronage while lesser ones ended, this also happened in Anatolia for the same reasons.

>E-Christians are pagans
>>
>>18769286
>Generally worse in all regards
And by this I mean, under the Arabs
>>
>>18769286
Also, Arabic is a shitty language compared to Greek, Coptic, and Aramaic. Coptic, on the virtue of being the descendant of the ancient Egyptian language, had no right to be replaced by Arabic.
>>
>>18769286
Hmm you seem to be describing the former Roman territories that were colonized by the subhuman germanic snowniggers. You had places like Britain or Gaul who went from urbanized and wealthy provinces to literal backwater shitholes. Religious affairs also deteriorated since the germanic snowniggers were arian christians while the local romans were nicene ones which led to heavy persecution. The locals lost all political powers while the snowniggers were a minority elite that ad their own separate laws.

The Arab conquest one the other hand was a reconquista of semitic territories that were under foreign rule for more than millennium. The Levant went from a peripheral frontier zone to the center of a new world empire. Urbanism was pretty much alive and thriving with new centers taking the role of capitals like Damascus as well as new cities being founded like Fustat or Kairoiuan. Meanwhile London was uninhabited after the saxon apes migrated to Britain until the 9th century. Cordoba was the second largest city in "europe" after Constantinople itself.

Also, Germanic language is a primitive language compared to Latin, Greek or Arabic. British romance language had no right to be replaced by the Angloid language.

>Arabic
Arabic is an awful language comparable only to the mewling of goats.
>>
>>18769316
>>18769514
This is why I know little timmies are pathetic incels

Arabic is objectively considered one of the most beautiful languages on earth being the language of poetry and singing

Coptic is a shitty dialect of Greek and Arabic Egyptian is closer to the ancient one than that foreign language
>>
>>18769521
No it's not arabic is an objectively hideous language i genuinely have no idea where muzzies got the idea it sounds good.
>>
>>18769286
>The Arabs were actively hostile to the people they ruled
Objectively false, and the majority of the Arab population of the Mashriq (who were the plurality of the region anyway) as well as the non-arabic minority actively aided the Mujahideen against the Greek squatters

>>18769286
>they introduced arbitrary taxation
Lmfao one of the reasons the locals despised the reekoid squatters was the abusive taxes, is crazy how zionist scum like you not only lie but completely reverse facts
>Benefits of the Greek state
Such as being a Rhodesia of the Middle East used as a shithole no-man land and battle royale against fire worshipping heathens?
>Estimated tax rate was higher
Source: my ziocuck crusty asshole
>>18769286
>The only beneficiaries of the Caliphate's rule
Were the local afroasiatic peoples of MENA that ousted the oppressive Greek invaders
>>18769286
>This wealth wasn't used to uphold public infrastructure
Is this why cities like Cairo, Baghdad, Damascus and Aleppo were exponentially wealthier with better structure than any hellhole in the peninsula of Asia called europe bar cuckstantinople which was used by the greek parasites as a metropolis hub (where the wealth of all the territories they ruled was hoarded)?
>>18769286
>While issues existed with the Greek state and the Egyptian Church
Issues such as the Greek squatters activelly trying to exterminate every single judeochristian that didn't adhere to their nailed kike cult to the last? The Greeks were so hated the patriarch of Alexandria gave them the keys to the city and aided in their ousting
>>18769286
>Trade collapsed with the Mediterranean world
No such thing as a ""mediterranean world"" and the caliphate INCREASED the flow of wealth from the east as they united MENA with Persia and were friendly and respectful towards China unlike the retarded Greeks
>>
>>18769533
Is not only """muzzies"" that agree with me, is just that you're a timmycel racist cuck and uncapable of appreciating beauty, and is absolutely hilarious how you try to separate its sounding from aramaic when both are extremely similar being north central semitic languages
>>
>>18769554
It is only muzzies that agree with you thats no why no one cares to speak arabic and why we're not conversing in it and we can only thank allah for that.
There's nothing beautiful about sounding like you're clearing pleghm from your throat all semitic languages are ugly sounding.
>>
>>18769521
I doubt its "timmys". Most of the Arab hate comes from Israelis and hasbarabots that genuinely infest this website. Any Muslim that stays on his side of the world is my friend.
>>
>>18769538
>as well as the non-arabic minority actively aided the Mujahideen against the Greek squatters
Pop history nonsense backed by no sources.
>Such as being a Rhodesia of the Middle East
The Egyptian locals were the ones ruling their administration. That's how the Roman administration functioned in the first place. Many Syrians and Egyptians took on high civic roles as a Comes just like somebody from Anatolia or Greece would.
Who do you think built the roads? Payed for the construction of city walls? Funded public games?
>Source: my ziocuck crusty asshole
>>But the oft repeated view that imperial taxation was heavier than comparable rates in the Islamic world or under the Carolingians, for example, is not supported by the evidence: taxes in eighth-century Egypt appear to have been as high as they had been before the conquest, and possibly higher.
Byzantium in the Iconoclast Era p.476
>Were the local afroasiatic peoples of MENA that ousted the oppressive Greek invaders
Care to name the sources that actually state this and cite them?
>Is this why cities like Cairo, Baghdad, Damascus and Aleppo were exponentially wealthier
I see you're ignoring the entire argument that urbanism as a whole declined outside of patronised cities. Same shit happened in the West with Cordoba before the Arabs and Mainz under the Franks. The prosperity of a few cities doesn't change the trend of failing urbanism. Urban centralisation happened everywhere, including Byzantium.
>Issues such as the Greek squatters activelly trying to exterminate every single judeochristian that didn't adhere to their nailed kike cult to the last?
Which they didn't do. Why are you just making shit up? Even hardliners like Justinian didn't do that.
>>
>>18770226
>The Greeks were so hated the patriarch of Alexandria gave them the keys to the city and aided in their ousting
That doesn't mean all that much. It was customary to do so to any ruler, they did it with the Persians too. What did you expect them to do? Fight to the death? The same group also sponsored an expedition force from Constantinople to expel the Arabs.
>No such thing as a ""mediterranean world""
There clearly was even after the fall of the West. Trade continued out of Egypt and Syria until the Arab conquest. There was little disruption in trade networks beforehand.
>and the caliphate INCREASED the flow of wealth from the east
The Caliphate used the same ways of trading with the far east as the Romans did, ships. There is a collapse in cities in eastern Egypt which acted as trade hubs for India and China like Berenike and were never replaced.
>and respectful towards China unlike the retarded Greeks
The Romans and Chinese did not have any relation, they could hardly disrespectful to them considering they had no avenues to communicate. If anything it was the Arabs who insulted them by invading their territory.

The numbers "one, two, three, four, five", in Coptic
>ouai, snau, šomt, ftoou, tiou
The same words in transliterated Egyptian:
>wꜥ, snwj, ḫmtw, jfdw, djw
And in transliterated ancient Greek:
>heîs, dúo, treîs, téssares, pénte
Let's try the pronouns "I, thou, he". In Coptic:
>anok, nthok, nthof
In Egyptian:
>jnk, ntk, ntf
In Greek:
>egṓ, sú, autós
How about "father, mother, water, land, tree"? In Coptic:
>iōt, mau, mōou, tho, šēn
In Egyptian:
>jt, mwt, mw, tꜣ, šn
In Greek:
>patḗr, mḗtēr, húdōr, gê, déndron
Any of this can be trivially verified with any dictionary of the languages in question, mind you.
