What would it have been like?

The Nazi regime's actual historical blueprints for the region—primarily overseen by Alfred Rosenberg’s Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories—reveal a calculated mix of ruthless economic exploitation and tactical political manipulation.
Here is what Reichskommissariat Turkestan would likely look like today under hypothetical continued German occupation:

1. Demographic Collapse and Forced Resettlement

The primary objective of the Reichskommissariats was the implementation of Lebensraum (living space) and the Generalplan Ost.
• Depopulation: Large segments of the indigenous Central Asian populations (Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, and Tajiks) would have been subjected to forced labor, deliberate starvation, or mass deportation further east past the Ural Mountains.
• German Colonization: The region's fertile valleys and urban hubs would have been systematically settled by ethnic German colonists, establishing heavily fortified agrarian communities and segregated ruling-class enclaves.
• Erasure of Slavic Presence: The significant Russian and Ukrainian populations that lived in Central Asia at the time would have been systematically eliminated, enslaved, or expelled, as they were viewed as primary racial and political adversaries.

2. Radical Economic Exploitation

Turkestan would function purely as a resource colony for the Greater Reich.
• Cotton Monoculture: The Fergana Valley and surrounding regions would be aggressively exploited for cotton production to supply the European textile industry, likely utilizing brutal forced labor systems.
• Resource Extraction: Central Asia's massive oil, gas, and mineral reserves (particularly in modern-day Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan) would be funneled directly to the German war machine and industrial heartland via heavily guarded strategic rail networks.
• Enforced Underdevelopment: Outside of extraction infrastructure, the region would be kept deliberately underindustrialized to prevent the rise of an indigenous economic base capable of resisting German rule.

3. An Apartheid-Style Infrastructure

• Puppet Administration: Today, the region would likely be governed by a highly oppressive, totalitarian puppet regime composed of thoroughly vetted collaborationist elites.

• Divided Identities: The regime would have intentionally stoked tribal and ethnic divisions among Kazakhs, Uzbeks, and other groups to ensure they could never unite into a cohesive anti-German resistance movement.

Physically, the region would look like a starkly divided society.
• Fortress Cities: Major hubs like Tashkent, Almaty, and Ashgabat would be divided into elite, modern German quarters featuring monumental, brutalist architecture, contrasted against impoverished, heavily policed native ghettos.
• Environmental Degradation: Without the post-WWII international focus on local ecological preservation, the aggressive exploitation of water networks for cotton irrigation would likely have accelerated disasters like the drying of the Aral Sea even faster than occurred historically.

During the July 16, 1941 conference, Adolf Hitler explicitly outlined Germany's long-term objectives for the occupied Soviet territories, prioritizing rapid economic exploitation, permanent German hegemony, and the systematic dismantling of the Soviet state.
Rather than establishing independent anti-Soviet partner states, the conference formalized a policy of absolute colonial subjugation.

Key Objectives and Directives From the Conference

• Immediate Resource Extraction: The primary economic goal was the immediate plunder of food, oil, and raw materials to sustain the German war effort and population, deliberately prioritizing German needs over the survival of the local population.
• Irreversible Subjugation: Hitler asserted that Germany must never leave the conquered territories. He emphasized that the region must be permanently policed, stating that only a German should ever be permitted to bear arms in these lands.
• Territorial Annexation and Fragmentation: The vast territory was slated to be broken up into distinct administrative zones (Reichskommissariate) to destroy any unified national identity, with strategic areas like the Crimea, the Baltic states, and Baku targeted for direct annexation into the Greater Germanic Reich.
• Deceptive Pacification: Hitler advised that while the military pacification of the area required harsh, immediate violence against any resistance, the public face of the occupation should temporarily mask these ultimate colonial ambitions to minimize unrest during the active campaign

That's cause the governors of the Reichskommissariat (and the German Wehrmacht) who implemented policies counter to what Rosenberg wanted. If they implemented what Rosenberg wanted and got the Slavic peoples to side with them, they would have won the war.

The Wehrmacht wanted genocide of the Slavs because they wanted to engage in Napoleonic tactics of "living off the land" by pillaging and raping all the food and resources they conqueror.
>>
>>18770326
Tbh most of what pissed the slavs off couldn't be helped. The Hungerplan was non-negotiable. Though technically there could be an argument over how they may have been able to more efficiently use the resources they had. In the end, Rosenberg's vision simply conflicted the practical constraints of the dituation, as well as the ideology of the NSDAP.
Plus he was a terrible politician and Hitler thought he was a dork, which is at least 85% of what mattered in the internal politics of the Third Reich.

German settlers, ambitious status of central Asians, potentially elevated as a bulwark against Russians under some "actually they wuz aryan", maybe a few capitals with German architecture
Also, lots of archeology. Tons, even.
A lot of museum efforts too.
It'd be poorer than under the soviet's and probably not as well managed desu
