The God of the OT is far too anthropomorphic to be taken seriously. He is a wrathful being who commands genocide and dumb semitic purity rites, he is explicitly described as a personal God with human emotions like love, anger, jealousy, and is prone to changing his mind, and he is described with masculine terms like "God", "Father", and "he" which thus makes him a gendered being. The God of the NT is also anthropomorphic since he literally has a physical body.Only Deists truly believe in a non-anthropomorphic creator.
>>18771498Don't forget the funniest god verse ever
>>18771498It's universal across traditions for higher entities to have humanoid forms. Why is it always assumed this is 'anthropomorphism' rather than the human bodyplan and the like being partial reflections of the same essential archetype? Arguably, Bible supports such a view with imago dei.
>>18771507>Why is it always assumed this is 'anthropomorphism'Cause god doesn't exist dummy
>>18771498This is because Gods are made in the image of man, not the other way around. Christian philosophers went totally insane trying to reconcile the various different depictions of God throughout the Bible and created a totally incomprehensible being that only vaguely resembles the character in the Book.>>18771507>Why is it always assumed this is 'anthropomorphism' Blame the Church Fathers and Christian philosophers who decided God can't actually feel emotions or change his mind and whenever the book says he does that it's lying.
>>18771498The entire point of characterizing God as a "Father" / patriarch is to further encourage women and children to submit to their head of household. It's a psyop, you retard, and by pointing it out you're only actively undermining yourself. Of course it's not "real" but that doesn't mean it isn't an important idea nevertheless.

>>18771507in a god-inhabited universe why would there be an archetype of anything?
>>18772662Unity and multiplicity. If there's multiplicity of form, which there is, this lends itself to an archetypal layer between material multiplicity and divine reality. The only alternative to this is something like Ockahmism/Deism, positing an absolutely transcendent God with no relation to our reality. This seems hard ro argue for and few religious thinkers make this case. Ergo, we must take the archetypal view.
>>18771507The human body plan is objectively very poor, our spine alone refutes intelligent design a million times over. There's nothing divine about it.
>>18773011>The only alternative to this is something like Ockahmism/Deism, positing an absolutely transcendent God with no relation to our reality. That is far more tenable than organized religions, where the supernatural is recorded as happening in time and space, and divine beings interact with the physical world and/or make claims about it repeatedly. That leaves you vulnerable to scientific inquiry, and scientific, empirical inquiry has yet to corroborate the truth claims of major religions.
God is real and He actually wants to save us from getting the punishment and separation from Him, and His plan is for us to be happy and not suffer. He doesn't force this on us though. Salvation is a free gift, and there is no other book like the Bible than can accurately prophecy future events thousands of years in advance, such as Psalms or other Old Testament books giving specific details about the life and crucifixion of Jesus on earth on top of the hundreds of other details not just about future history, people, nations etc.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYcB15SX6OU&t=980shttps://kjvcode.com/Jesus Christ is The Lord God in the flesh. He came to Earth in human form, willingly died on the cross as a sinless sacrifice for all the sins of the whole world to save you from eternal hell, the punishment for your sins. He was buried, then rose again from the dead. He now offers complete and permanent spiritual cleansing and eternal life to anyone who trusts Him enough to ask Him for it, instead of trusting their own works to be saved. Trust that the work He did is sufficient to pay for you sins, and call upon Him as your Saviour, knowing that you are a sinner, and that without the blood atonement He made, you would go to hell. You might not know what to say, but if you understand that you need Jesus Christ, call upon Him. God will keep His word and save you. God will give you everything that you need to accept salvation as a free gift, as long as you really want it. (1 John 5:7),(John 14:6).Rom. 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”Eph. 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VRT2FFXntc>>18773040Humans are cursed due to the fall, and the human body is now designed to make us tired and uncomfortable.

Why does this bother you? Is it because you do not think strong and smart people should have emotions?>Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
