Im going to start drawing as a kind of meditation/therapy. I currently trace around 3d models that I pose, pic is one of mine. Could i get some tips on how to improve please? Also, what is bad about chicken scratch? Should I avoid using it as I learn?

You should focus on doing fundamentals and work on anatomy practice. Nothing wrong with using 3d models for something quick or as a beginner. But you shouldn't rely on it.

tracing will only make you better at tracing, though probably make you more comfortable with your tablet and software.
Dont be afraid to just sketch random doodles, youre allowed and encouraged to "fail". the only thing that really makes you better is practice.
if its too hard to learn something from a real life ref, you can always look through art to see how others handle it.
do you have any art that youd say is your main inspiration?
