I've read Robertson's book and it doesn't take long before even his "methodology" breaks down. You can find threads on Math Stack Exchange about ppl who know math actually working out whether some of Robertson's methods are geometrically correct. Surprise! Many of them are not. Especially later in the book for example, Robertson asks you to guess the shape of a circle in perspective and then use that as a guide to draw a square xD. I'm not bashing Robertson at all, there are more painstakingly precise methods to do things like drawing perfect squares in a plane in perspective, but they are so involved and complicated that unless you are an Italian architect in 1542 Florence, there's virtually no practical benefit to the working artist. As long as it looks "good enough" that's also good enough for Robertson. Many of his techniques in the book are shorthands for getting there. If you think that you are going to sit there and autisticly draw a dozen tumbling boxes in perfect perspective, then you are going to take 6 months to draw a single figure. If you can't at least start drawing 3D forms through intuition and your own eye, then you are NEVER going to make it.
