Thank you, I was never really bother by it, I had some art teachers told me that I should do cleaner lines, but I could never get them right.

Before going digital, my art has always been really messy sketchy, part of it was because I would erase a lot, and because Dorohedoro is my favorite series.

Thanks. I'm quite happy with her design, though I might tweak it a bit to further emphazise her feline nature by adjusting the ear position a bit higher as well as perhaps making some minor adjustments to her face and hands. The idea with her is that she is supposed to be a genetically engineered human/feline hybrid creature.

I was shit a couple of months ago. I just grinded drawing clothed figures and afterwards you begin to understand how folds and rendering works
I'm still a beginner so if you wanna get as good as me just do what I did and pick a random clothes figure from Google images and draw it the best way you can with shading and values in mind. You will get better by sheer trial and error
I see you're already drawing drapery try adding more contrasting values to make the forms pop out more
>>

Hello anons,
I really enjoy these and am wondering which of you accept commissions and what kind of rates you have. I am working on a TCG that will need a lot of art and I want to begin finding available artists. I have worked with anons on commercial projects before and would love the opportunity to get more anons work in to peoples hands.
I won't bore people with the details of the game, but the setting would be a 1930's-50's alternate history America

this is incredible, i thought i was looking at detailed concept art from a team for a popular ip. if this is yours, even if you were heavily referencing a game or something, the level of difficulty is off the charts, there’re so many things you would have had to have been actively considering to even try it, and you nailed it. tons of respect.

The perspective of the character and the room feels a bit off. Secondly, the door should be a bit taller and have an actual door handle, the window frame design should intentionally be more cross shaped or have the window frame intersection be more in the center. Finally, I think Cyanida's feet would be angled slightly different to match the extreme perspective convergence of the floor.

It's not, the floor and walls feel way too distorted. The convergence is a bit extreme, should be more subtle.

Thanks for the encouragement anon, but i think i don't have the ability to learn. I get frustrated and give up to easily to be able to learn how to draw properly.

Thats why most of my stuff are 5-10 min sketches. none of my drawings are actually complete because i'll fuck up a part of it and lose interest.

I recognize your art from the last time you had posted it with the guy riding a dinosaur.
>>7931549
This is your strongest piece I've seen from you thus far which I think can be attributed to the angle, colors and composition masking your weaknesses. Your understanding of composition and color is outpacing your draftsmanship. You also tend to use rim lighting that is very cool or neutral leaning towards white, it tends to look amateurish. In addition, if your paintings had better structure and perspective to them I think you'd be at a level that's competent enough to be start producing some impressive works. I'd recommend you focus on that, as it was and still seems to be your biggest weakness. I hope you recognize this critique comes from a place of appreciation for your continued practice and grinding. Wish you all the best on your journey.

Can you please elaborate on that? I need some feedback. These pieces are studies because I have been dedicating most of my time to art. I feel that I have improved a lot from last year.

This has been some of the most encouraging stuff I have heard for a long time man. I take this very seriously and since last year I have improved a lot. This is some of the stuff I was making in 2021 lol. I thought it was so cool. Can you please elaborate a little bit more? I base my illustration/paintings on my own sculptures. I make with monster clay and other stuff. I read about james gurney and it all clicked. It improved my work ten fold. I am now building big stuff and made a workshop in my house only to sculpt and paint. I'm gonna save your post because I save every encouraging comments I get. But please elaborate a bit more! Thanks anon!

You made those sculptures? Were they from reference? I mean regardless, they're very impressive. Also you've come a pretty good deal forward since last year so good job on that. If there is one key take away from what I told you, it's that your understanding of form within a 2d plane needs work. Draftsmanship, or, perspective, form and construction are basically the scaffolding for your rendering. It's the structure for your coloring and light. If your structure is poor, you can't out render it. As somebody better than me put it a long time ago, if your structure is a turd, rendering it just makes it a polished turd. So you need to work on your perspective and form.

Your colors and values at are a decent enough level where you should focus more on your weaker fundies and once you've strengthened those then you can come back around to work on things like composition, focal points or areas of interest, ambient lighting, mood, etc.

Thanks! I think its amazing you remember that illustration because it is from 2024. I remember somebody told me that it looked like AI and it crushed me. I stopped for a day and then kept going. I have been studying seriously for 6 years at this point but started digital in 2016. I started sculpture last year but it came very natural to me because I used to play with stuff like that since I was a toddler until I was like 13. Almost every day. I studied physical arts in an art workshop and also did the syn studio digital course in 2022. I have done the curriculum given in this site too. And studied dozens of books. I have turned every stone. I still have a long way to go but this is what I mostly do all the time. I teach a bit of english on the side and that’s it. Most of my real progress has come since I started incorporating models to my illustration. I will take what you said into account.

Making your highlight and shadow values match how bright and dark your background gets is a good way to marry the subject with the scenery. The back side of the dragon that would be in Shadow isn't as dark as the side of the pillar that's facing the camera (away from the light) making the dragon look lit by something else. It's the same issue you see when someone isn't green screened in properly.
