Are you currentley in the drawing mines, or are you procrasinating via video games and youtube and only really putting 20 minutes of actual drawing a day?
>some sketches to warm up>procrasianate until 10pm>draw for 3-4 hours without blinking until I pass out
When I begin a project I will draw for 15-20 minutes, break for 5 minutes to reset my eyes, then return to drawing for the same period of time. I know some artists reset by switching to another project but I've found difficulty juggling multiple pieces at once.
>>7948807I only have time to draw for a couple hours a day but summer's coming soon and I intend to draw an awful lot more then. At least four to six hours a day, hopefully.
>>7948807why do you need to know this lmaoo
>watch youtube>draw a circle>continue watching youtube
>wake up 5AM>take a ice cold shower>go to my balcony, stretch for 10 mins>go for a jog by 5:30AM, not a soul in sight in the city, except Ms. Mei (she winks her butthole at me as I jog pass her) >return home, drink a protein shake, take another shower (hot this time)>tinder date still in bed, groaning >head downstairs to the cave, lights illuminating, PCs activating>smell freshly brewed coffee to my left, right on time, grab a cub and head to my workstation>7AM Draw>7PM Finish drawingpretty much my entire day, the rest you can leave up to your imagination
I realized that my life was either drawing or waiting to draw so I made a simple schedule for my days off of my day job>04:00AM - 08:00AM | Gym Grooming (app preview) >08:00AM -12:00PM | Art >12:00PM - 04:00PM | Outside > 04:00PM - 08:00PM | RECORD, Job app, Preparation If I'm being lazy I'll default to this schedule, Working out in the morning gives your day positive momentum, going outside keeps you sane- and if I'm not running errands I'll go to a park or pier to draw. For the last block I track my day look for a better job (you should always be looking for a better job) and prepare for the next day, these things are super simple so I usually put my entertainment there.... though it does seep out if I have no drawing stamina and want to numb myself. Art consists of 30-1hr warm up, at least 30 mins on a main project, an art vid on something I'm struggling with or exercises another hour or 2 on the main thing I'm working on again. There are days I throw this schedule out the window, if I have appointments or family obligations but I'm a loser with no friends and nothing going on so that rarely happens. I also happen to wake up before 4 AM sometimes and usually just get into art until it's time to workout, when I wake up late I just do art until the next block.
>>79488073 am wake up with hangover 3:36 am jerk off4 am get drunkThe rest is a blur5 pm play video games 6 pm draw A stick figure
I had this thought that maybe drawing isn't supposed to be fun. When I'm actually challenging myself and growing as an artist, those days are usually not that fun, and I'm often sore and disappointed by the end because I failed to hit my goal, but I can also be really excited and thrilled by success. When I'm doing something I already know how to do, it's fun, but I'm not really learning or growing.I think when you see an older artist who hasn't progressed in years, it's almost 100% because they fell for the, "Art should be fun" trap.
when I draw I have a cooldown upon finishing. I cant draw again for at least 24 hours, so I try to draw as long as I can when I do draw.
>>7949343>I cant draw again for at least 24 hours,That's the story you are telling yourself. Sometimes you have to power through until you get your second wind, it's not pretty but once you break that barrier it gets easier.
>>7949345HOW????????
>>7949347Envision yourself as a shounen protagonist.
>>7949347It's like a muscle, you have to train it. When you're done for the day, set an alarm and tell yourself you're only gonna draw for 15 mins, if you make it you won if you find yourself going over 15 mins a lot push it up to 20 if 15 is too much go to 10. Make it impossible to lose so you can keep your momentum. It also helps to audibly say "I'm going to draw badly" or write "This will be bad" this really helped me out of my slump and now I draw almost everyday (for at least 30 mins) only missing 1 day out of the week.
>>7948807Coinflip, basically. It takes 30 minutes for me to get into the zone so if i can manage that successfully, itll be a productive day since I can get through coms really quick most of the time.
>>7949391"What's the most you ever lost getting distracted by youtube? Call it"
>wake up whenever>go to a restaurant>return home>coffee, 100mg modafinil and nicotine pouch and if I slept well I might smoke some hash>stretch and break>draw>stretch and break>go to a restaurant or indtant ramen and eggs at home if it's too late>draw>stretch and break>draw>eat>do whatever>smoke hash>sleepIf I can finish a page I'll take the rest of the day off but if not, which is usually the case, I'll draw for 8-12h in total. One page usually contains between 6-15 panels, if I'm doing some highly detailed or precised stuff or if the composition is super tricky I might end up spending days figuring out how to make it work it might take me up to a week to complete a pageIf I feel stressed out, tired or uncomfortable I'll stop drawing until I feel fine again which can take anywhere from half an hour to three days.If I take a day or two off it's usually after drawing non stop for a week or twoHow I'm feeling strongly affects the quality of my drawing, if I don't feel good in some way my drawing degrades to a point where I'm spending more time fixing mistakes over and over again than actually progressingI can do writing no matter how I feel, it can never be stressful
>>7949426how do you afford restaurant every day where you live?
>>7949429Because it's extremely cheap, 1-3 dollars for a proper meal
>>7948807wait until roughly 12-2am (mostly due to work) then doodle for anywhere between 40 mins to 3 hoursThen I wonder why in 8 month's I've barely made progress, but at least it's a secondary hobby I do because a friend of mine told me I had potential an I said "fuck it" and went for it
>>7949429My breakfast, exactly $3Chicken curry, cottage cheese-spinach curry, two tandoori flatbreads and rice, tastes amazing
And of course
