How do some of (You) manage to have a job and keep drawing? Stupid ass comic I made at work.
For the past 2 weeks I've been using my hour to 2 hour long break at the hospital to brainstorm little ideas and hopefully have time to perfect them later. There was also a little study of my surroundings that I'm proud of. Being alone with your thoughts outside your house does a lot for creativity (thank you for reading my positive vent)
>>7951916I do most of the drawing on the weekends after getting a satisfatory amount of gaming done. During the week I draw small bits or make sketches so I don't have to do as much on the weekend. Doing things at my own pace and without forcing myself, I usually take a month to draw a single page.
I quit mine to become a comic artist. I have around 6 months to make it. Grinding boxes as we speak.
>>7951916The job doesnt take much mental focus as its manual labor. I can tune out and imagine what I want to make while im working. Along with that, I practiced enough where I can lay down an image quickly. If its something im struggling with, my 15min breaks are used to test out an idea before my hour lunch. Once the hour lunch hits, i can pump put a drawing quickly. So really, some prep work is happening before I draw on my break. Sometimes no prep work, so quality fluctuates. it really depends on the day.
>>7951916What's your job? All jobs I've had won't let you bring notes, a pen or even a phone.
>>7956017The hell are you doing where theyre damn slave drivers? Id tell those managers to fuck the right off not letting me bring a simple pen and paper to work.
>>7956017Secret chemical lab or something?
I'm a paid neet now.
>>7951916I usually work from 8:45 to 4pmwage slaving as a cashier and I doodle a bit if it's not busyAfter work, I go to the library at about 4:30pm or 5 depending on traffic and I draw till they close at 10pmI do this every day unless I'm off then I go to the library when I wake up then draw or study till they close
>>7951916Work is the best time to be drawing
>>7951916If you work with kids, you get a lot of free time compared to the average worker. And if you're emotionally fulfilled helping kids, even better.
>>7951916your comic sucks. get a hotel night clerk position
>>7956401is this really your life? why dont you apply for the library...
>>7951916I'm full time unemployed. I've tried to find a minimum wage job but seems like God chose me to be his neet. Not so bad, I can spend my days being comfy and drawing
>>7951916I work 8am to 5pm. I can only draw when I reach my daily quota around 10am but I pretend to be so busy until 3pm then I draw something then prepare to go home by 4 to 5 pm.Here's an anime girl face I drew 2 hours ago lmao
I posted this in another thread, but I get a couple hours of free time in my goy IT job, I use them to to thumbnails and work on my script.I work a couple days from home, which is great, but honestly it can be hard to get any work done. I can draw all day on the weekends, but then at home, when I get 20 minutes in between meetings, I cant will myself, espeically cause Ive gotta constantly check our tickets queue which takes me outta my zoneFunny cause I used to be deserpate for WFH, and now its not even that amazing. Honestly thinking about doing >>7955945 I really hate having to sit down all day, and then sit down even more to drawalso cute drawing >>7951916
