You only just started posting with those accounts. It's a game of accumulation, very few can get lots of followers with just an image or two, and usually that only happens because they have a reputation already, like being a well known animation director, or videogame artist, or something.
>>
>>7953580

how long did that animation in OP take, blank page to finished? and what software?

I'm pretty experienced in 3d animation (my preferred 2d animation right now would honestly be blender's grease pencil because I'm soooo fucking comfy in blender) and I'm even more experienced in figure drawing, but I haven't really broken the seal on 2d animation.

yep, search banned already and most likely shadowbanned as well. With nsfw you have to work fast enough to get a decent or large following before any of that happens, so once you do get any form of traction/following, it would continue to grow from that alone. Try to make fan art of a popular artist oc(That you like) with those animations of yours.

around 25 hours of work give or take. I use Toom Boom Harmony, the best 2D software there is imo.
The good thing is that the base principles translate to any medium of animation, you can probably pick up 2D quite fast. I want to learn 3D too, the software is too complicated for my smooth brain though.

>>

I don't know it depends on the context of what you animate. If its fanart look up hashtags related to that franchise if its original nsfw then look up some nsfw tags other animators use or tags for the fetish if its specific

I'm still getting likes. Other websites say I'm not shadowbanned. In any case there is nothing I can do so whatever.
It was an inactive account for years so maybe that caused it.
>>
>>7953580
Unironically post your art in related gooner art subreddits, your art will get attention, most of the nsfw artists I know post on reddit as well as twitter. Twitter shadowbans new accounts unless you post enough for several weeks. I don't know if getting followers will help that.
>>
>>7953832

The other one (on the bottom) is reflected light from the ground. I imagined a shiny wooden floor that is reflecting the moonlight back to her cheeks.

Both are extemely exaggerated and are there to put focus on the butt. It is not a serious light study.

The lipsync looks a little off, it is a very small sample so there is not much to say. Make yourself a mouth chart and use it, you can move the mandible a little too. Since it is a static character you can do that easily.
Remember that the mouth shape need to appear 1 or 2 frame before the sound.

Do you think that learning animation is a good way to learn figure drawing, for someone that is bad at it and stagnating?

you can learn them at the same time THRU animating but depends what you want. generally the more detailed a character is anatomically the longer it takes to animate

I think 5k is a good number to start a patreon, you have to understand that the amount of followers you get is mostly fake, out of those 5k probably 50 or 100 are real followers that will watch and react to your stuff when it comes out, 5k is probably 5 or 4 comissions if you have the willpower to work like that, patreon is a decent option as long as you know how to deal with the antiporn nonsense (link your videos to google drive, mega, whatever you like using) dont post porn thumbnails because patreon might react to it, kofi or cofee whatever is called i have seen many artist use it, i also know that cash app is an app you might want to use for comissions because the few i worked with used that as their main way of paying, also use paypal but understand that you have to be very sneaky about it, create a fake reason why you receive payments like you are providing a fake internet thing, advisor or some shit so paypal doesnt nuke you account, if you get paid inmediately take it out of there and move it to payoneer or airtm or whatever you like using because paypal will 100% try to stay with your money.....

If you do a comission dont work with retards that ask for too much, filter them by rising your prices because they will try to take advantage of you, also try to use your comissions on your main website so you gain followers while also making money, also make very clear what type of content you want to make because people is willing to pay a lot for weird shit that you cant really capitalize on like loli or gross stuff...

Also consider a pasive income like locking temporarily content on patreon, or just completely paywalling some exclusive stuff, maybe you can paywall whatever content you will never finish, its shit to you but may be enough for someone that wants that little extra from you, there is also alternatives to patreon, just visit big artist and see what they use.

I didnt know about patreon being anti NSFW I though that those was a huge amount of the creators on that platform

It is hard, specially at the beginning. Animation is not intuitive, it took a long time for me to grasp basic concepts like spacing and timing.
You should focus on basic excersices at the start, a lot of bouncing balls and stuff.

Thank you!

Sheesh right now it's at 5.8k likes and I think I got around 500 follows. I coudn't have done it without all the anons advice from here and the shortstack thread so thank you for the sound advice. It REALLY helped.
I have a long way to make it but this is a huge boost. It relied on this big event though so I dont expect my next animation to pull those numbers again.

>>7959914
From what I learned:
1: Follow trends
2: Post with key words (in my case Pomni, Digital Circus and animation)
3: Post in any relevant place possible
4: Animation does WAY better than static images, if you add a small head movement and blink you can get more attention I think. The downside is that it takes a lot of time to learn but you can "cheat" and learn simple cut-out and rigging with Moho for example
>>
>>7959953
Oh no no no, I didn't give you any advice, I just retweeted your pomni animation on my largest account to give it some traction. Normally it's a crapshoot based on the individual I retweet, but you getting 5k is pretty good by my book especially for as late at night as I did it lol.

I just had an idea for a sex parasite, it attracts males by entering a female host. It migrates to their breasts and does hypnotic pulsing motion similar to https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YM_5wiS4frk

Since I don't animate I was thinking maybe like a webtoon with a couple animated pages to showcase the parasite's movement, or maybe like a short 15 second clip. I was wondering what programs would be best for this? I was thinking the method for animating this would be something like a mask on the breast, lowered opacity for the fill, of the breast, then shifting a pattern back and forth in time to the movement of the breasts then loop those frames in some kind of isolated folder via keyframes as the male approaches. Though it might look kinda scuffed now that I picture it.

Anyways, I was wondering if just those basic things are available in most animation programs or if there are some that have this more readily accessible? I know CSP doesn't have a loop function.

Anyone know that youtube video that was basically this one guys entire animation for the year. It has a bunch of smiling colored (red/orange/green) dudes and a rotating horse thingy with wings. Idk if they deleted their channel or not but I cant find it anymore. Pretty popular. I think it was either 2023 or 2024 Animation reel. Most of it was fighting and punching and some Naruto nigga teacher.

Yeah any animation program that doubles like an art program like krita, photoshop or csp can do what you described
>>
>>7961707
csp doesn't have a loop function, on there you have to copy and paste a sequence, or is that just standard in all animation programs? Seems kind archaic that I can't have isolate specific animations and have them function independently of each other on the timeline. I'll have to check photoshop out though. I don't like Krita just because all of its key binds and shortcuts feel backwards to almost every digital software out

>>
>>7961716
I'm assuming you mean looping a specific section based off of what you described? I don't think any program lets you do that except maybe editing and post processing software. What most usually do is animate the frames you want on a separate layer from the non looping stuff, draw out the first loop and then copy and pasting the entire thing and placing it at the end of the loop until you need the loop to end
>>
>>7961777
wow, I guess on the surface it feels like a feature that would exist or be a given. Must be harder to implement that I thought. I think the closest thing I can find right now is blender, I can set an object to have its own loop without having to copy paste the entire thing over and over, but looking at what blender does I'm gonna have to either tinker around with it quite a bit to get the translucent skin and pulsing to look not 3d. SIGH. lmfao. thanks for the input

I've read through Cartoon Animation, but have only quickly gleamed through Animator's Survival Kit, so take my thoughts with a bit of grain of salt;
Cartoon Animation is moreso about drawing characters that are suitable for animation, and some of the more basic drawing principles of animation (squash and stretch), while offering some nice examples of animation for you to study from (some lip syncing and and walk cycles).

Survival Kit seems to be much more theory based, with a lot of thoughts on what will make a better animation, moreso than it is a drawing book. Things like staging, composition, timing, etc.
That's what I get from my quick glances at Survival Kit.

Since you're new to drawing, Cartoon Animation is the way to go (in my opinion), as it still teaches a good amount of animation, whilst focusing more on drawing, and if you're still hungry for a deeper dive into animation concepts, then go into Survival Kit.

Between Open Toonz and Synfig which one do you guys recommend? I don't even know what's the difference between them in the first place.
And I know they're free and that i can easily try both but I want to save myself the hassle of that.
>>
>>7963808
From my understanding, synfig is primarily for tweening/puppet based animation, rather than Frame by Frame, while Open Toonz is Primarily Frame by Frame focused, and has little tools for tweened animation.
So go for the program that more greatly supports the type of animation you want to try.

Though maybe they've changed since I've last looked at them.

It's not like that. There are a lot of better animators than me but I dont mind. My problem is that I never finished personal animations becouse I wasnt 100% satisfied with them. I studied a short animation career and the rest I learned while working as a freelance or on my own. I would recommend getting aron blaize or toniko pantoja courses for beginners.

You may not be satisfied, but then again, every artist is their own worst critic. Others will likely fawn over it.
>realized lated that I missed a shadow on her hair and the eyebrows lol.
Yeah it sucks to eyeball a piece a million times before hitting upload and then realize 'FUCK this is wrong that is wrong'. Now its a hit and spread everywhere and now you cant change it. But I mean, people arent staring at her eyebrows, so they wont notice those flaws.

what's the best programs for animating on ipad?
Been using Procreate for a long time but the base version has some serious wonky limitations for animation (only one timeline, no audio imports, layers are frames), and likewise the animation version (dreams) felt like a massive fucking mess when I tried it.

The best I've tried so far is Toonsquid, but I'm struggling to make anything look good with its available brushes and pencil settings.
>>
>>7976259
procreate dreams has the best brush engine but is still missing a few features (more of an inconvenience that a dealbreaker like it was before)

toonsquid is surprisingly fully featured but i dislike the brushes

CSP has a god awful ui but lots of pros use it. There's a new 'minimal UI' that might make it less cumbersome I haven't tried.

procreate dreams is what I use >>7975848 . Praying they add the ability to draw a straight line in some future update.

Alright, thanks my dude. Yeah I'm overall really fond of Toonsquid but the brushes are fucking rough to work with, I hope the dude making it can improve that a bit.

I might give Procreate Dreams another try soon then. Back when I tried it the first time I was hard filtered by the lack of a "select and move selection" tool which I hear they have added since then. CSP having a new minimal UI does sound interesting, but iirc it also had a pretty steep monthly cost and I'm poor as shit at the moment.

How many hours does it take to animate those ten frames, times by whatevers the average hourly rate in your country.
Standard rate is about 20-30 USD per second of fully animated footage, but if you're doing porn loops you can probably bump that up.

>Standard rate is about 20-30 USD per second of fully animated footage, but if you're doing porn loops you can probably bump that up.

theres no way its that low. At least 3 well-drawn keys for a second and some tweens will take anyone more than an hour. And that would just be for the rough pass.

bro they teleport down like they're 6 tons or something, they need to flop with weight but not too much weight. after they escape the confines of the shirt there should be a fall period where they're making their way down followed by a meaty impact against the belly, ideally complimented with bounce and recoil. go check out some titty drop videos and try to match their timing

I want to make spline animations, but I don't use paid software. I have tried using blender for such things, but it's finnicky, though with Blender it should be possible through some technique...
Like here's an old example of mine from 2 years back. Haven't tried recently.
>>
>>7982301
Oh here's a newer example, forgot lol.
The problem is like rigging the GreasePencil because Weight Painting doesn't carry over between frames. You either weight each frame manually or use bone envelopes.
Programs specifically for splines should be easier, ah...

I believe they've somewhat recently added tools with a focus on 2d puppet animation. Though maybe 'recently' was long enough ago that you were trying it at that time, haha.
>I want to make spline animations, but I don't use paid software.
This said, if you're looking for another free tool, Rive has a free tier for just animation (but exporting the animation as JSON animation is a paid option).
There's also Dragonbones, but I haven't seen any cool work that makes me think it can be used for anything professional, unlike Rive which has tonnes of cool animation examples all over their site.

There should be a rule of thumb for any opensource art program to make sure you convince one good artist to give it a go and make some cool stuff with it to display its capabilities. Otherwise everyone will avoid it thinking it's an amateur hour program.
>>
>>7982266
How easy would you say it is for someone to learn this program who comes from a Flash/Animate background? I'm used to working with symbols, so I imagine there's a lot more bone rigging at play here compared to what I used to do.

its really exhausing and basically requires approaching animation from a completely different perspective. instead of the hard part being nailing timing and consistency between frames its making sure all the different images dont clip and how to most optimally divide images for more tricky layering like the hair. like i said its getting less tiresome but its still annoying and disruptive
>>7982301
>>7982303
i've definitely given blender a more than fair try, grease pencil is just too fucking janky and inconsistent for me. pretty cool work though, definitely better than anything i had the patience to make with blender
>>7982660
unfortunately my flash experience ends all the way back in like 2018 and even then i was doing frame by frame there too, so i'm not sure. best way i can describe it is like 3d animation with the topology and bone rigging but with 2d assets, kind of what grease pencil probably would be if it wasnt a giant piece of shit

See, that's the interesting part for me, considering I've already had to be a problem solver when it comes to rigging things in a way that doesn't make things break. The hair motions look really fun.

Vidrel, but it all looks super complicated for the stuff I want to go for (been a while since I posted in here, but I do motion tweening NSFW). There's something quite mesmerizing about this program, but at the same time, I have no idea if my brain is willing to go through the learning process of it.

Annoying hierarch͠eadaches...

Is it really so difficult to take each anon's most representative piece of (sh)ART and put it all into one big gif???

i didn't think of that
wtf that's actually a genius idea
instead of a poopularity contest the voting is more of a qualifier for which gifs get to be part of the collage
