You HAVE been practicing perspective, right anon? It just may be the most important fundamental You aren't just grinding anatomy and drawing characters in white voids, are you?
>>7961706I practice it everyday anon
>>7961706>Most important fundamental I agree Is there a reason why anatomy seems to get all the attention? It feels like every other fundie gets sidelined for it
>>7961706You don’t need to be able to do the autistic grid shit to be able to draw the body
>>7961711because we are humans and the human form is what our eyes are naturally drawn to, what stories are centered around, what can express so much with subtleties and what our minds immediately will know is wrong or off. It's literally in our biology. So people don't just obsess over it for no reason. Perspective however, is what allows for the figures to sit believably in space, it's basically your camera. What is a director without a camera? Just somebody talking at actors
>>7961706Yes. Does that mean I'm a good boy? Will I be able to find a wife one day?
>>7961720yeah even stories that are about objects anthropomorphize them to some extent. I mean the latest god of war is going to be about a fucking cube. lmfao. It's going to have subtle human characteristics or shapeshifting animations cause otherwise just a fucking cube. Also, lmao @ the fact it's a fucking cube, looks like a drawabox user finally made it
>>7961720I hate looking at the human body, it's disgusting
>>7961712But, anon-kun...
>>7961711Most people are interested in drawing character designs and what not, something you don’t need expansive perspective knowledge to do. Like if you went to a figure drawing course they’d spend maybe a week on perspective
>>7961712You need to be able to understand how the body functions in 3d space , which requires perspective knowledge
>>7961706I remember doing the whole scott robertson autism for a couple of months in 2022it was pretty fun
>>7961706perspective always confused me cause i didnt realize youre supposed to put the vanishing points way off the page
>>7961758that depends on the rotation of your objectsome clever anon made this, it's very useful to understand how vps workhttps://www.desmos.com/calculator/34138e810f
>>7961759Thanks anon I’ll use that. I don’t want to end up like uncle adolf and have people putting a bunch of lines, circles, and question marks on my artwork.
>>7961706Is that a... WHITE VOID behind the building??
>>7961706it doesnt matter as muchthe image i come up with doesnt have the guide lines in the first place, they are added to the sketch.
>>7961706Drawing so many grids and guidelines is soulless. The human imagination was never meant to conform so rigidly.
>>7961706>be prebeg>read ktd>perspective appears in 5th chapterlol
While I do agree that perspective is important, yall are sleeping on composition, its also like as good as the other fundamentals.
>>7961871I agree that composition is a very underrated fundamental, one that I ignore myself from time to time.
>>7961871Is there any good books or guides on composition? I'm not sure I know of one.
>>7961887Creative Illustration by Loomis
>>7961903Is that so? It's always Loomis, I should have known! Thanks for the info, anon.
>>7961706I admit i haven'tIt just feels like a lot of planning and effort and im not gonna like the result :/Fuck it might as well give it a try
>>7961706>You HAVE been practicing perspective, right anon?I'm currently making my way through Bridgman, and am planning to go through a book on perspective (probably Norling) after him. So not yet, beyond basic stuff like what Loomis has taught in FWAP and FDFAIW.
