>Dude, I'm just going to copy someone else's work and call it mine!
I don't get this obsession. Why not draw something more unique and original instead?
Rayman slop has been beaten to death already.

Fanart is illegal now, pack it up.
>>
>>7962092
why would i draw anything other than sexy ginger woman?
>>
>>7962094
If people can bitch about AI for copyright infringement then I don't see how human fanart is different.

OP literally has a screenshot from the Rayman trailer and is just copying the exact same pose and character. What other goal is there?

I accept your defeat cuck.
And then you guys post a new thread an hour later wondering why you can't get commissions.
You refuse to make any new or exciting art.

Weird troll crab post.
Doing studies is how you learn

Make shadows darker. Make it clear which direction light is coming from. Try adjusting line weight so the lines that are further away/hit by light are thinner and those that are close to us/opposite the light are thicker. Jim Lee has a fantastic video about line weight on youtube

>Weird troll crab post. Doing studies is how you learn

That's not studying.
Go practice from real life.
Learn what perspective, volume and even texture is first before copying a CGI trailer that intentionally circumvents those rules.
Ubisoft can get away with it because they're professionals and have life experience to know what looks good from bad.
The OP is an amateur artist and it shows.

I can’t believe we’re still having this argument in the year of our lord 2026.
If you want to paint realistic portraits of skulls and fruit then pain realistic portraits of skulls and fruit.
If you want to draw stylized anime girls then draw stylized anime girls.
It’s honestly all very simple. You can learn form and perspective from anime or anything else. It’s all fine. Just practice what you want to be good at.

The neck is bothering the hell out of me.

Fundamentals are fundamentals and just copying art that you don't understand undermines it.
Great anime artists are good because they read from medical textbooks and not just looking at each others characters.
Jesus, no wonder there are so many fake and shitty artists these days. You can't be arsed to learn the basics.

I'd keep the arm where it is or at least lower it a bit. The armpit line seems too dominant making it look like she dislocated her shoulder.... maybe it's the arm line underneath the armpit either way it needs some work. Look at how perfectly your ref placed the head+neck into the torso and try to capture the same feeling.

If you want to be an artist that means taking criticism.
If you can't handle it then this craft is not for you. Go flip burgers instead.
>>
>>7962088
if you're going for a 1:1, you need to make the neck longer and move the mouth further up.
When it comes to rendering, the reference has more contrast and is also more saturated in the darks.
If you're going to do the secondary light (reflective red light from her hair on the edge of the face), make sure to do it last. Otherwise it will trick you.
What's the pic from btw? I played Rayman Origins and Legends, which were amazing. Is there a new game out?

>Is there a new game out?
Yes, but the screenshot is from the first e3 2013 trailer for Rayman Legends which was pre-rendered.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IQuDbycE3k

The newest Rayman game is actually a remake of Legends but now the 3D graphics are rendered in real time.

always check your values
a helpful tip I was given is to always match the background color first, because of color relativity is difficult to make value/color judgements in isolation
the other is that beginners tend to not push value hard enough (making darks too light)

As a pro animator from the industry I'm gonna give yall a life tip.

You niggas need to look up the PBR system. You know how you said that some darks are dark or some lights are light?
Yall need to remember there is actually a science behind that.
Materials behave and react to light differently. You can have two light colors in that picture, but if you treat them both like they're made of a stone or dirt material then it's going to make the final result look unrealistic or unconvincing.

This is why I'm saying yall it's important to study from life. Not cartoons. We experts, know what the hell we're doing.
Amateurs, yall need to make every brush stroke feel as if it's important or has purpose.

Dont focus on hue, focus on value. (Hint hint little nigger, your values are off squint your eyes, see how dark the hair is behind her, how the helemt drops a darker shadow on her eyes.
Always try to zoom back as furthest you can and it becomes obvious. Its what I do instead of zooming cause I rather not squint to avoid getting 11 lines. Kekekekkekeke
