Has anyone else noticed the decline in quality in Japanese hentai manga?Has anyone else noticed the decline in quality in Japanese hentai manga?I mean, overly graphic panels, grotesquely voluptuous characters, and stories that are practically an insult to the reader's intelligence.
>>7962301maybe you're getting bored of it because the quality has remained the same if not improved over time
>>7962301There were mountains of obscure doujins produced throughout the 90s and 00s that had crappy art and awful generic writing. Frankly the average level of quality and creativity continued to increase throughout the late 00s and the 10s.
Some 90s and early 00s doujinshi are literally indistinguishable from western deviantart horrors.
My schizo conspiracy theory regarding this is that Fakku and the other former pirates, along with regular manga publishers who stopped giving a shit, locked down the vanilla stuff and what's left on exhentai and other websites you get scans from is what doesn't get you a DMCA in minutes : things by lesser known and talented artists and fetishes so radioactive the normies don't want them in their catalogue
>>7962301the hentai doujin scene was always flooded with mid to low quality stuff
>>7962301You just have to know your poison. If you want some actual quality hentai made by experienced industry people you read something like comic hotmilk koime or comic exe, magazine in general are better than independent publishing because they have editor in there. You might be thinking that the story is all the same or the ending is predictable, but the content that they offer in there is better than independent manga out there combined because they know how to tell a story on top of being able to draw. Theres a reason why people are still crawling back to the likes of sanbun, bai asuka, and kishizuka kenji to this day despite the overflowing amount of ntr manga in the market, wanna know why? Because their works are structural and substantial. These days you have some independent manga published in pixiv, fanza, fanbox, patreon, or anything made by inexperienced author who wants to draw doujin for the sake of draw doujin, all without the great filter of traditional publishing or editor that constantly criticizing their works, of course you will see a massive decline in quality in there
>>7962301yeah. mostly """vanilla""" stuff to. the kiddie and sibling fuckers still have girls that aren't grotesque pigs.
Chill with the porn consumption, OP
>>7962301I think because of the huge DMCA some time ago. So works by lesser known authors get translated these days. And it’s exacerbated by AI slop mtl translation, and the artists/assistants/editors/magazines/publishers forcing AI slop usage.
>>7962301>stories that are practically an insult to the reader's intelligence. That's been happening since forever; far far too little vanilla stories, it's just cheating and NTR bullshit
>>7962433Vanilla, outside of straight shota genre, doesnt sell. Netorare and fetish genre are always in high demand since 1990s because people are naturally sadist. Its all about supply and demand at the end of the day, for the reader/consumer, its about their willingness to embrace their animalistic side to pleasure themselves
>>7962301I notice a decline in Fuetakishi's hentai manga, yes.Hentai manga in general? No.
>>7962478this
>>7962301>decline in quality in Japanese hentai mangaThere's like a couple dozen hentai artists in absolute total who could be considered a master in their field. Everything else is mid int to low beg, and only worth reading if you're really starved for a certain fetish.
>>7962301I don't know I keep jerking off to the same stuff since 20 years.
>>7962517>low begI have legitimately never seen any Japanese drawings ever that were as bad as the low end of our /beg/ thread. I guess they exist but I haven't seen them
>>7962527you probably scroll past them on pixiv
>>7962301Its just a decline of Japan in general. You can see it in regualr anime animation. They peaked in the 90's to early 00's. Nostaliga bias doesnt exist if the stuff they made back then is factually better. Same applies to movies, TV, and media in general.
>>7962536You're comparing random individuals to studio productions. They are not comparable.
>>7962301Kinda fell off when most artists just did BAslop really
>>7962301Artist age in and age out.
>>796230130 years later and the japs are still adding genital censorship to the most ugly, depraved artwork.can they at least start using color and PNG format?
>>7962675>can they at least start using colorblow your brains out
>>7962301Manga, video games, art also looks like shit now.>juju shitkuzen>shitmon slayer>chainmediocre manThe japan you once knew is dead. I blame zoomers and jews. Not to mention it all looks like a AI sharted most of the modern illustrations.
Once the old guard completly dies or retires (most of them are soft-retired sharting out a chapter a month or a year ) then it will be completely over. forever stuck with mediocrity and ironic garbage Hey sub to fakku, netflix and crunchy roll won't you?
>>7962301I don't know specifically about hentai manga. But I kind of feel similarly about anime in general, at least visually. I prefer anime from the late 80s to 90s. It's not because it's better per se, but I like the more "cartoony" look. I know this is a loaded term, and I don't mean it in the western aesthetic sense. I like the more exaggerated designs, movements, and deformations. The individual frames have a different kind of energy to them. Contemporary anime has definitely moved more towards realism. The characters feel more solid, but it comes at the expense of the oldschool smears I like so much. There are still exceptions, like the reboot of Yaiba.Perhaps hentai manga is also moving more towards a solid, static look, and is losing a certain kind of energy? There are certainly more hentai artists who incorporate 3D models into their workflow, and that definitely plays a role.
>>7962301I've noticed that porn artists have gotten fucking lazy since covid.
