I had to drop my commission prices due to poor sales
Ofc ai exists
A very significant amount of people who paid for commissions just wanted fan art of their favorite characters or OCs in some novel pose or doing NSFW stuff. They didn't particularly care about the exact angle or anatomical accuracy. Now that AI image generation is a thing, they realize they can just get it for free, faster, and probably better than some of the people they commissioned in the past. Are you guys getting any commissions? How many? Has it changed any from prior to the AI shit?
you're SEAmonkey fuck off
>>7967970i get more than ever... but i charge dirt cheap too kek
I photobash/trace AI and charge $30 per colored piece. It takes me about an hour to do. Commissions has never been easier.
most of my "competition" got cancelled for using AI in any shape or formI actually increased mine
>>7967974From a consumer's perspective, I would rather do business with a SEA person than an American. I have this impression that American artists are immature and mentally ill, and hard to do business with. SEA people on the other hand are very responsive and polite. Great to work with desu.As an American artist though, it makes me feel ashamed. Lol
>>7968545>very responsive and politeThats just every artist living in a low income envirorment though.
>>7967966Can't compete with the third worlders, eh?kek
>>7968545genuine question anon, how much are the sea dudes charging you? and which type of stuff you commission?
>>7968579I haven't commissioned anyone since 2020 because I don't trust sellers not to use AI lol. But the most recent commission was from a charming young lady from Malaysia who was using drawing on her phone. It's just a full-body anime drawing. I believe the entire commission was $60, but I don't remember now.
>>7968625Stupid dumbfuck commissions from literally the shithole that mass produces AI and cheats in everything they do because he thinks someone from the internet is a girlYou are a lost cause. Straight up a fucking idiot
Think it depends a lot on the communities you advertise your work on: Furries pay great but they rarely commision people outside the community and porn is a great quick buck but you need to grow an audience to actually get work there.Get into DnD circles, there's an abundance of them and they tend to be super loyal customers if you do your work right. And then you'll get the porn gigs and BAM, you got yourself a flow of clients.
>>7968854I’ve lost count of how many posts I’ve seen from DnD people that said “I switched to AI”
>>7968854almost everyone on the /tg/ drawthreads has stopped comming artists because theyre slopping nownot worth it
>>7968938>almost everyone on the /tg/ drawthreadsI wouldn't consider drawthreads any real life indication. It turned out in /v/ and /a/ and other boards' drawthreads that 90% of reqs were by same request spammer who tried to secure as much as free art as possible. When it was revealed, majority of drawfags opted out to non-request drawthreads and the request threads were moved to /vg/ because the requesters kept fighting over the few drawfags still sticking with doing requests.
All the people ITT who got mogged by AI: Skill issue. Literally.
>>7967966I raised mine this year due to them always filling up instantlyThey filled up instantly again
>>7968951>it was just one "Anon"You mean botfag. When you see the usual post with ref sheets, 90% of the time it's the bot>>>/vg/571111842i just casually checked out the thread today and the anchor drawing is one of mineinsane that that shitty drawing still gets used
Low tier commissions took a bit hit from AI but your job is to get better at drawing so your commissions are high tier.
>>7968997why is there a guy using bots to shit up request threads for years?
>>7969003Probably same reason why all boards are now filled with bots: Mental illness or just wanting to shit up everything
>>7969003He's not using bots but he does use IP hopping. In the end it's about him feeling in power: having others draw for him for free, having him run the threads as he wants, him driving away drawfags who refuse to draw for him.He also tried to initiate collabs and claim that the drawfags were supporting them but then it turned out no drawfags had heard about the projects other than what he himself had posted about in the threads.
>>7968951AIslop was made for these kinds of shit why aren't they just hopping to the slop machine?
>>7969010That sounds like the resident wacumguzzler
>>7969014Can't feel the same power from having machine make slop for you compared to another live human being dedicating hours to draw for you.
>>7968849BEFORE 2020 dude...
>>7969010I remember starting to seed the shit storm on that guy because i did his request but drawn extremely badly on purpose as to call him out on it when he would inevitably post the same request the following thread.
