Are there really people on this board who cannot even draw forms this simple from imagination without a reference?
>>7970925nope. they are just pretending. it's called performance art.
>>7970928Is there a compilation or at least known venues?
>>7970925i don't have an imagination, i usually just start drawing boxes at weird angles and then i draw things within the boxes at the angle the box is in. sometimes i get art out of it, sometimes i don't
>>7970935well thats probably good enough mostly some of the time, right?
I can't even draw what I see. I've been stuck on permabeg mode since 2023. Betty edwards is useless if you're a sperg like me. plus, not even brent eviston courses helped me.im helpless, but at least i try. could be worse.
>>7970977dubs of truth, you're cooked lowkirky lmfao
>>7970977If anyone here actually wants to try and help me, ill post my work. I dont have high expectations though.
>>7970985Didjou make that cool rat
>>7970993Years ago, when i had ambition and hope, but yeah. >>7970990I can try. Watchu wanna know twin? The Jews don't want ppl to know that you can just draw from imagination
>>7970977Pyw
>>7971007one of the hundreds of attempts at observation.
I can't foreshorten to save my life
>>7971015>>7971015That ones easy, look. Foreshortening is just taking a difference between two identical diemnsions 2 inch apple becomes another, smaller, farther away, but still 2 inch apple. The distance between the to is your "Focal Length" assuming they are idnetical .Your brain does a lot of interpolation.
>>7970925most people can't, its unnatural to be able to see the world for what it is. Our eyes INTERPRET what we see and our brains try to make sense of it. Drawing is not natural.
>>7971025low iq
>>7971030yeah, I lack talent. I win.
>>7970977>I can't even draw what I seeThat is a beg trap. you should never draw what you see
>>7970925I struggle to draw shapes sometimes, I got a couple photo references of real life cubes in different positions I like to trace over
>>7970925Damn these are great, I especially love the bar of soap thing
>>7970935Why did you start drawing in the first place if there was nothing in your head that you wanted to draw?
>>7970925What brush did you use? did you use multiple layers? I want to do this exercise too, it looks fun.
>>7971340forgor to attach image ggyeah would like to just learn more I guess.
>>79713401 layer, square brush opacity on pressure, though a binary brush is just as good.It is fun!
>>7971025this board is truly lost....
>>7971344So it's both lighter and smaller the lighter you press? What's a binary brush?
>>7971012Looks cool post more
>>7971025>its unnatural to be able to see the world for what it isFor me this only applies to complex things, especially faces. Boxes and cylinders are just boxes and cylinders. Even if you can't imagine one in your head you should somehow know what a circle and rectangle are.
>>7971355>For me this only applies to complex things, Complex tings are composites of simple tings!>>7971347who cares nigga just use a pencil. The tools don't matter.
>>7971356I care. I'm asking because I care We're discussing art in the place where you discuss art. Get a grip.
>>7970925Being able to draw from imagination doesn't mean you necessarilly should do it.
Some people find it easier to work dark to light for this exercise. I know I did when I first started.
>>7971362I don't think "imagination" means "lock yourself in an airtight room with no references whatsoever", I think it really just means "original piece that didn't exist before". So it might be a combination of multiple existing references. What's the point of being an artist anyway if you're not creating original pieces?
>>7970925Yes that would be me
