Why does Reddit give bad advice to beginners?
Reddit give bad advice to everyone on every subject because most of their worldviews are founded upon the idea that nothing can ever be objectively incorrect or undesirable or lesser (except in matters that conflict with the political faction they've selected for the identity they believe it embodies, of course). They fail the first step of AA but in all aspects of their lives, which is why they spend so much time in a hugbox in the first place, and on a sliding scale of subconscious to conscious desire they don't want anyone to surpass them.
