Daily reminder that technical skill and how good you are compared to people who have been drawing more than you (unless they're actual god tier pros like Murata or KJG) will most likely not matter anymore at some point if you actually draw and make progress, so don't doom and keep drawing
>>7972727If only you knew how bad things really are.
>>7972733>Example: 1 retard with abysmal tasteYou realize people like this dude or Chris Chan are exception to the norm right?
>>7972733I love this comic>hours of time and effort into>its a bug...I get that simple yet appealing designs can be deceptively hard to master but his bug characters aren't even appealing they look really generic like 90's SATAM cartoon junk
>>7972795Yeah there's an undercurrent of self-centered narcissism to a lot of these complaints.>"People are WRONG for liking attractive anime women! They should like MY random shitty designs instead!"
The hardest thing about being an artist is that you are never finished. You are expected to draw and paint daily for hours. This is mentally exhausting because it's a very mental task
>>7972803It isn't even an undercurrent, it just straight up is. It's the same kind of delusion that people who make OCs have, where they get upset people don't glaze their OC for just existing in a vacuum. They've given people no reason to care about their art, it literally insists upon itself. It's self aggrandizing. They believe that because they spent effort on it, that enough merits praise and adoration from the masses. Okay, maybe you enjoy your art that much, but others clearly don't give a fuck, give other people a reason to, rather than "we live in a society".
>>7972843The masses have shit taste. Always been this way. Just because nobody cares about your art doesn't mean it's bad. There has always been an ongoing battle between dumbing down your art to appeal to the masses and actually expressing yourself. It's the difference between art and entertainment which exists in every medium. The masses want entertainment while the artist wants to express himself. It's the difference between being trendy and being timeless. real art often only gets recognized later when the artist is already dead.
