what do i do if my sketches are fine but doing lineart rapidly erodes my willpower untill even brute forcing it only produces horrendous dogshit?

Line art problems stem from the sketch. Your sketch is not sufficiently developed. Inking should not be a mentally taxing effort. If it is and it's draining your willpower, it likely means you're still trying to solve design problems while inking.
Make more sketch passes. Redo the perspective on the gun more carefully. Look to actual guns for inspiration, as your design is unwieldy and does not match the apparent caliber.

as >>7975443 said your sketches aren't fully developed. That seems counterintuitive at first (why would I need to lineart if my sketch is complete?), but lineart is its own form of art which requires a solid foundation, that being your sketch.
