is there any real use for 5 point perspective other than those drawings of you drawing yourself drawing in first person?
>>
>>7982964
this is garbage, you can do that accurately with non-curvilinear perspective
>>
>>7982964
you can maybe one day make a cool spread in the comic/manga you said you'd make 5 years ago
>>
why tho, op. it’s just like connect the dots if you’re giving yourself the grid and doing unrendered geometric forms. if this were an activity itt or something where we used the grid to make something in some interesting post-by-post-building game device way, we might both have some fun and learn something.

They work well in animation when you have a long camera pan

should of done another drawing in the drawings drawing
>>
>>7982964
There absolutely is. When you're in a first-year drawing course at school, you do one of these for "perspective" homework and your fellow students absolutely shit themselves.
>>

This. Its an impressive display of skill and capability. Half of art is being able to imagine the thing youre drawing and some people have no perspective whatsoever
>>
>>
>>7982964
Yeah

>2 men going head to head in battle, the moment before they connect
>horseback knight jumping over eye point
>cityscape bg face of man going insane
>cars/whatever racing in city
>panorama of busy medieval town

I hate the creatively bankrupt

you really don't need 5 point for a medieval town panorama. you're better off just keeping your vertical lines vertical

in fact, i don't think i've ever actually seen a 5 point perspective panoramic drawing of a premodern town before. the point of panorama is to be an ultra wide view, but none of the buildings in the pre-skyscraper days per particularly tall enough to warrant even 3 point perspective, which is why historically, 3 point perspective didn't become a big deal until skyscrapers were being built and you had a reason start tilting your center of vision up instead of keeping it level with the horizon.

From a standpoint of being able to create whatever the fuck you want with a pencil, that photo is boring. Pic rel is (shitty image find but) more exciting, especially if some kind of motion, like a horse drawn wagon or a fight is happening in it.

Forgot the fucking picture, I might as well draw what I'm thinking of anyway
>>

i'm not debating the other points, it's just the panorama that stuck out to me as odd. in 5 point(or rather 6 point technically) it seems like something that would be used for those old reflection maps in videogames or something along those lines. panoramic perspective is really a 4 point perspective drawing where the 4 points of perspective are on the horizon line representing each of the cardinal directions. North, East, South, West.

Damn I kinda don't care enough to put effort into this

Already did various exaggerated perspective exercises in middle school art class, anon.
