>how do you draw hands?

Generally I follow guides like pic related and apply this 'sheet of paper' method which in a nutshell is just simplification of the hand and understanding how does it work mechanically. Once you've gotten comfortable with that then you can start playing with other things like foreshortening and different angles, gestures for the fingers. I particularly like the footprint method to draw feet(not sure if I should call it a method or a trick or w/e) literally from the bottom up, I feel it helps visualize it a lot better.

It isn’t as difficult as you think. Focus on drawing them using various approaches- draw them as bones, draw the hand muscles, divide them into cylinders and other basic forms, study cartoon hands, draw hands from life, etc. The more the merrier

I use my own hands as reference and pray for the best.
Written guides for drawing dont work on me, specially if they are in english, it has to be on video format or bust.

1. Fingers are not as straight as you think
2. More of them are in shadow than you think

you draw hands until you get good at it. use your hand and a mirror for reference. look at how other artists draw hands and copy them.

Here's something I didn't realize until much later. Use the back of your hand, where your knuckles are visible, for hand proportions. The palm of the hand is fleshy, and changes shape/volume.

Just trace the reference it's impossible otherwise
>>
>copy a few poses many times to memorize
>repeat the same poses forever
>sometimes modify the pose a little

i hate that method in general, it doesnt hint at placements at all

i draw the thumb muscle, figure out the proportion of the thumb to the rest of the hand, draw the rest of the fingers and then refine
>>
i don’t
i struggle with fingers bigly
