If i had a video game company or some animation studio i would hire this guy to be my art director and paid him 500k/year to own /ic/ chuds and say straight to all of your face that 'a guy like him, that youre laughing at every weeks, got hired and could land himself a job in the industry and youre not'. But sadly i dont have a video game company or animation studio or even 500k in my account
>>
>>7994855
what causes people to just mindlessly plug and chug like this?
drawing has an infinite number of answers and methodologies to capture something's likeness but these kinds of guys only seem to want to stick to a single "formula"

You think he's capable of developing his own style? The best shit he's ever drawn has been plug and chugging chommang. If he had the ability to actually apply it in his comic it would look 10x better.

Is this the sequel to "Howie Pets a Dog"?
>>
Okay so from what I can tell, Arbiter Wolf's manga is the premise of a mahou shoujo story where the dog is the kyubey and gives the three main characters the staff weapon thing. My question is in the beginning of the story when wallet girl loses her wallet, the dog seemingly gives it back to her, only to steal it again and get hit by the evil truck?
>>
>>8002043
I couldn't even tell there were 3 different girls

same, I kept thinking it was out of order or he was redoing pages or something

>>
>>8002207
>>8002198
>>8002193
I can parse it because I can understand the /permabeg/ so here's the story so far:
>wallet girl loses her wallet
>she sees the dog have it
>as she tries to get it back the dog runs away
>dog gets hit by the truck because of this
>sleep girl wakes up but decides to sleep in
>dog crashes into her window
>dog looks for the truck, sleep girl is confused about the talking dog
>truck transforms into optimus prime
>dog tells sleep girl to fight, gives her the magical girl staff
>before he can explain how to use it he gets hit by the robot's hammer arm
>the impact sends him flying back to wallet girl
>sleep girl tries to use the staff but she misses, dog gives wallet girl another magical girl staff
>truck goes to attack the dog and wallet girl, dog tells her to shoot, she misses and the dog is punched away once more
>the dog crashes into another window and lands inside sitting girl's house
>sitting girl is confused by the situation and the dog gives her a magical girl staff too
>sitting girl doesn't miss and is able to shoot the robot and it falls dead
this is the story so far
>>
>>8002338
that's like the staple of his art at this point it's impossible to laugh at it.
>>
>>7998399
What the fuck man.
Fuck this is some schizo kino.
I guess its some timeloop scenario, but it's hard who's supposed to be the same character, and who's just a sameface other character.

unironically, how do you help someone like this?
it's like he has the 2D equivalent of lacking depth perception, it's the first time it occurred to me that picrel maybe wasn't metaphorical
>>
>>8002770
If this man was given infinite time to practice, how long do you think it would take him to get out of prebeg hell? Would he ever make it?
>>
I have a theory, I can't prove it but I have a theory. This nigga doesn't actually practice daily, the only art he does is everything he records in the uploads. If you think of his entire progress as 125 hours instead of 125 weeks it makes sense.
>>
>>8002323

>getting back to where I was

and where was that mr wolf?
>>
>>8002808
he is exactly where he was at the start and where he is until he changes his approach.

>>8002799
Problem is that you can draw and draw and draw but you learn nothing from this. Doing construction without understanding form and perspective is like trying to understand physics around nuclear engineering but you only know that power plant should produce electricity. It leads nowhere even if you go part by part inspecting everything you won't still understand why it works and how it works.
>>
There's gotta be some kind of developmental block here. I'm a permabeg with glacial progress but I can still say for sure my drawings have improved from 125 weeks ago.
>>
>>8002770

>starts the comic for the entire purpose of pushing himself
>comic this week is four panels of a portrait of an anime girl's face, something he's already drawing in his practise
The Journey of the Arbiter Wolf is a journey of one step forward and two steps back.

Also I could be wrong but isn't the drawabox exercise one where you draw shapes intersecting each other? He didn't even try to do that. Maybe I'm thinking of a different exercise but he did call it "the shape intersection exercise".
>>
>>8002798
Look at his old videos. He hasn't moved an inch after literal years.
>>
>>8003182
>starts the comic for the entire purpose of pushing himself
>comic this week is four panels of a portrait of an anime girl's face
Where's the contradiction?
>>
>>8002788
>>8002848
>>7998514
The problem with wolf is that he's studying wrong. He doesn't know how to properly teach himself to draw. I genuinely think he must have autism, I've worked with autistic kids and they're genuinely awful at teaching themselves to draw. A LOT of them jump straight into constructive drawing without doing the legwork of observational drawing.

>he's doing construction without form (and tracing it, which isn't practical if you don't have enough experience with drawing)
>he's drawing forms (drawabox drills) but not actually drawing from life to make it stick
>drawing from imagination/memory but having an extremely weak visual library (he's not carefully observing and studying the things he wants to put in his comic)
>thinking he has to draw with pen first (do not use a pen until you are quite familiar with a pencil)
>>
>>8002814
>without understanding form and perspective
What is he supposed to do to understand these things? You either get it or you don't.
>>
>>8003215
>he's not carefully observing and studying the things
There are videos of him drawing using a reference and it's incredibly obvious he's not looking at the reference at all. Sometimes he hides the references after tracing the basic construction and I have no idea why.
>thinking he has to draw with pen first
To be fair, this is something drawabox tells people.
>>
>>8003215
oh shit I might have autism
>>
>>8002770
>the dog is going to stay the same
Does he know?
>>
>>8003215

personally it took me 3 months with 2-3 hours of drawing sessions per day before I finally understood what Glenn was talking about when he said "feel the form"

so I think there's merit to >>8002799

if you convert 125 weeks to 125 hours, his progression (or lack thereof) makes sense.
>>
>>8003294
I wonder if he genuinely misunderstands what people mean when they say to use a reference or to hide a reference.

He must think it means to trace the construction and then to draw it from memory except he doesn't know that you're supposed to make several copies of said reference, some of which will be from memory while others are made by looking at the reference as you draw.
>>
>>8003283
Understanding form is easy. You spend time just drawing a wide variety of simple 2D shapes, then you move on to drawing complex 3D forms from various angles.

Then you move on to perspective which you can develop by constantly drawing your immediate surroundings from various angles. After you've gotten into the habit, THEN you move on to drawabox to make it stick.
>>
>>8003318
I really hope he never finds out about /ic/. I want him to remain pure.
>>
>>8003283
no, you need to study perspective and how to use it. There are small amount of people who have actual talent for this but most study this.
