daily reminder digital "art" is not art, has never been art, is ugly and cheap, and every digital "artist" is now equally as relevant as an abacus. Even without AI, it was never taken seriously by any serious artist in the world. There will never be a digital print hanging in a museum next to a Rembrandt, because that would be an absolute joke. Should have learned to make things with your hands instead of investing your time into cheatpads, cheatware and sloplets. Oh wait, it wouldn't have mattered, because you digifags can't handle real mediums anyway.

very stale bait, we've had this thread 100s of times

>digital art
>can be hidden from your parents, quickly switching away to something else when they come near
>traditional art
>no way to make the paper vanish when parents come near
Digital art is superior, there's no competition.

>not having the dignity to look your parents in the eye
>not having the courage to be unashamed of your perversions
>not having established your space as private
>not simply having a place of your own already

Embarrassing to even consider living like you do
>>

There's no conceivable universe where I ever show a drawing of an anime girl to another human being and say "I drew that", pal
There's no conceivable universe where my mother would ever respect my privacy either, so
Getting my own place is out of the question because dad is in his 80s and will croak anytime soon, so who will support mom? I have to do it.

The fact of you being pathetic aside, why do you even do something you are ashamed and embarrassed of?

Friendly reminder that any non-anime art can be erased from this world (especially old ones), and nothing of value would be lost.

Nah Las Meninas is a genuinely great painting, one of the primary examples showing that classical paintings aren’t just all straightforward portraits or religious scenes. OP’s post is garbage but he has good taste in art at least.
>>
>>7992749
Nah, OP's 100% correct, digital "art" is art as much as ai "art" is.
>noooo but I worked really hard on the prompt and I manually edited the pixels
Not my problem.

cool
now that you got our attention, feel free to drop your traditional masterpiece drawing works

No. Come see it in the gallery like God intended or perish with the rest of webjeets.

I'm not OP, so no I didn't. Regardless, threads need an image in the OP so it's the lesser evil compared to legitimizing non-art in an art discussion context.

I like that digital is so popular nowadays because it makes my trad art stand out more.

"Art" is simply realizing one's mind's vision and digital is more effective at doing so
Just admit youre too much of a brainlet to learn new scary complicated tools
>>
>its not art because..... its easy
>>
>>7994037
>new scary complicated tools
shit like undo, layers and zoom just make the process retard proof and give you terrible, awful habits. nothing complicated about it. not to mention how trivially easy it is to trace or otherwise copy anything you want. And there's no print that will ever look as good as a handmade canvas. If all you want to is to make furry porn for degenerates then thats fine but if you want to make serious art then its a waste of time and actively detrimental. It is fun though
>>
While I'm perfectly fine with digital, I do think that if more artists made their art with traditional tools, more of them would be earning money with their art. That cute little picture you drew may get some likes and updoots, but what if it was a painting and you let people buy that actual drawing?

>Well, people can buy a poster
Yeah, and you can make the painting a poster as well you know.
Hell, if the piece isn't particularly popular, that means you'll hardly sell the posters to make it worth your while (because usually you have to pay even for the option of making something a print on demand poster), but if it's just a painting, all it needs to be is a hit with a single person and you've recouped your costs and then some.

So really, more artists should be working traditionally, and keep digital to professional drawings (for jobs requiring such) and sketches that may turn into a traditional piece later.
But this is just my opinion.
>>
>>7994233
I believe the complete opposite of this. Artists would be making more money if they were working in the entertainment industry.
The problem is that most of the world doesn't have an entertainment industry, and artists themselves are too stupid to realize that they need organization, division of labor, and capital accumulation in order to economize art production. They, you included, think that they should sell directly to consumers, but single artists selling single pieces are obviously extremely poorly fit for serving the art and entertainment demands of the general public.
The cliche advice is that a painting should tell a story. The proper question is, if that's true, why don't you hire a writer to write the story for the painting? Obviously followed up with "what kind of painting is best suited for containing a story written by a writer." You could make a comic, and sell prints of that. And auction off the originals.
The question is, if you're trying to draw professionally, why aren't you organizing into an industry? Why remain an artisan more than five hundred years after the printing press? Where's your publisher? Where's your printer? Where's your distributor? Where's your retailer? Where's your assistant? Where's your writer? Where's your colorist? Where's your animator? Where's your background artist? Where's your character designer? Where's your programmer? Where's your voice actor? Where's your vocalist? Where's your musician? Where's your framer? Where's your model? Where's your mentor? Where's your manager? Where's your advertiser? Your economic orbit is, almost certainly, you and your dying parents, and your income reflects that perfectly.
>>
>>7994233
>what if it was a painting and you let people buy that actual drawing?
I think the vast majority of commisioners don't want to go through the hassle of importing a physical painting.
Even worldwide known professionals with a deeply established fanbase usually only make a few hundred bucks pro painting.

Being an artist nowadays just isn't worth it. You either produce slop for the retarded internet masses or you stay poor.

Western society has developed many innovations such as abandoning your parents in an old folks home
>>
>>7994233
Nah, you can't make good looking porn with traditional art, the feel/look it has doesn't match up to the look of a digital work

What a load of bullshit lol. The best hentai anime were done traditionally.
Some talented japanese artist should just go back to making cel art. That would blow all digital fags out of the water.

Never said I was embarrassed and ashamed
Rather, 99% of people will look at you like you're a subhuman piece of trash and refuse to talk to you or interact with you beyond what's necessary if you show them that you draw anime, so it's just a bad idea.
>>
>>7994487
>art
>>
>>7994324
none of this bullshit has anything to do with actually getting good and making worthwhile art so I just throw up my hands and get back to work. if no one ever buys or cares about it, I dont give a shit, as long as I can see the progress and know Im getting better Im happy. unless youre a trust fund nepobaby trying to be a full time artist is retarded, and miserable, I know first hand
>>
>>7994487
I like digital art too but those two examples are not mogged by shitty Xitter art
>>
>>7994206
Noone cares about your neurotic schizoid academic circlejerk about what's considered "serious" art
Tools are just a mean's to end, if you're so low iq you can't dissaciote tools from its' userbase thats nobody's issue
>>
>>7994899
>the means to an end
the end of a digital "artwork" is a jpeg file. The end of a traditional piece, is a painting. 2 entirely different ends, bucko.

never reply to bait threads and be sure to hide them with shift-click!

Go die in your hole, then. You’re alone anyways, with all of your meaningful paintings. And you’ll take your progress to your grave.

Why can't prompt writing be considered a new art form?
