>trying to become pro artist to make living off it
>apparently still a newbie who's paintings can't be sold for living wage money or at all
>>
>>7993950
Yes. And...?
>>
>>7993950
yeah that looks very amateurish
i've seen better from random hobbyists who paint a couple times a year
>>
>>7993951
It seems process will be harder then I thought I been at it for a decent amount of time over a decade of drawing sporadically and about a year of painting here and there. I'll probably have to get some wagecuck jobs while I go at it for an extra year or three. Fair enough I suppose.
>>
>>7993956
You need to be doing HIGH QUALITY PRACTICE for hours every day to make any progress in drawing at all. “Sporadically” doesn’t cut it
>>
>>7993950
maybe you should do what you're told instead of shitting up /trad/ with your retarded theorycraft nonsense
>>
>>7993956
It take most people thousands of hours to even reach high /int/ you aren't going to make it by painting sporadically
>>
>>7993950
too complicated for a beg, just do a study or something of a single subject. you are juggling a bunch of concepts you have no understanding of and getting them all wrong. the landscape is kinda nice thoughever.

Iguana paint from imagination should I do studies from real life still? Feels like cutting off my wings youknowmsayin and also learn shit like painting trees and grass and so on from YouTube tutorials? And architecture and shit? To be honest o don't like any of that sheit I like painting fantasy entities and women but it's necessary for the shit I wanna do I obviously don't wanna paint them on a vacuum that'd be lame. To be honest the more I paint environmental shit the more I enjoy it. Still don't enjoy buildings because I'm legit doing it random shit like a makeshift architect imitating old European completely blind . It's still somewhat interesting but rather confusing. The thing with doing studies is that I'm old and I'm tasked with being a pro artist by my parents so they expect my own works and my stamina is about 1-4 hours a day more than that and I get tired even physically I can get carpal tunnel sometimes if I paint say 6 hours it's hard on the body, on mine at least, so that's why the idea of doing studies sounds stagnant because of my age and time constraints given my mental resilience and physical limitations of posture and wrists and whatever else. I can try to toughen up use a wristband and friggen relax my arm when I paint though. Another thing is each painting takes too long this one is going onto 22 hours or so. So if I do a study your asking me to spend like 30 hours on some shit which is wild just to maybe learn a concept or two. I gotta buy a more elaborate brush set. Well that's all, what you think.

I think you should kill yourself, how many threads about your pathetic fucking life do you have in the catalog, faggot?
>>
>>7994122
One, and 3 posts on trad but I was just sharing art for fun. But you're right it's narcissistic to make a whole thread for myself. Should probably not do it feel free to sage. But also there's nothing pathetic about what I'm saying. I'm trying to accomplish a goal that's all there is to it. How's that pathetic?

if you want to beeline being a "pro" learn basic perspective for landscapes, ideally with buildings and some composition, and simple human forms. be more abstract and hustle your paintings. really sell the angle that youre eccentric and interesting but a little naive and sad. you will make a little money from that, people like that stuff. your art as it stands is very uncanny, a bit too real yet very undefined, ideally you should aim to activate pattern recognition while remaining ambiguous.

You're telling me there are multiple 50 year olds living with their parents and being hounded by their mom with a predilection towards shitposting in trad adjacent threads on the board right now?
>>7994134
Who isn't?

You write like a fucking retard, but since you're a tradchad I'll waste my time.
First, focus on a single subject: landscapes, animals, portraits all work, just choose one and avoid fumbling around for the first years. People like consistency, and your art will improve as a result.
Next, fantasy is 80% reality and 20% novelty. So use plenty of reference to inform your work (not to copy them 1:1). If you're gonna paint a landscape, keep a few landscapes with a similar mood nearby to look back to, especially when you notice you're making up shit instead of recalling from your knowledge.
Last. listen to trad and properly prep your canvases, don't be a retard.

dont just wagecuck, find a job adjacent to your hobby in any way if you can

You're not going to be a pro working 6 hours a day. Also, I'm no longer young, and painting for six hours would be a cakewalk. How fucking out of shape are you?

Alright I will try to take your critiques to heart. Gonna paint more, prepare canvas, may do studies (I'm just really enjoying doing my own art, already have a cool idea thought out uwu), get more in shape, perpective etc. don't know if to focus on a single thing or do studies though it sounds so lame, I wanna be good now and do my cutesy paintings :v

Hmm it's a process, I will see what happens

A part of me views getting as good as those landscape painters or portrait gods and everything else of those kinds of specialists as insurmountable, so I wanna specialize on my own style to carve a niche, those just seem like old repetitive boomers to me, I know I'm disreapextfuk to the genre, I also dislike abstract art and conceptual art , not that I dislike landscapes and portraits but you have these people that have painted since they were 3 with tutors and have already done it before so it's like why do it again but as a modern neophyte with none of that technical mastery you can never hope to attain? It's like boringly repeating the past without ever achieving anything close to its greatness

Plus those people seem like no lifers who've sacrificed their lives for technical mastery, in that sense they almost feel subhuman to me like boring boomer subhumans like if I was a girl I wouldn't let them fuck me even for a second I'd be like eww boomer loser doing perfect paintings of horses get away from me (just kidding)

Either way don't take what I'm saying too seriously I'm just trying to communicate my feelings on the matter as in my pre rational feelings of what feels like an insurmountable and unoriginal pursuit of mastering perfect realism and other forms that modern people will never come close to again or masters and even if they could it'd be a form of being stuck in the past and I'm not sure if I want to be a no lifer; I'm not closed off to the idea, normies work 8 hours a day every day it's not crazy painting so much

Is this hitler's paintings?
>>
>>7994969
no one's sayin you gotta learn to paint at old master or some perfect landscape painter 60 year old boomer, just do enough studies so you can make better fantasy paintings stop being autistic

>It's like boringly repeating the past without ever achieving anything close to its greatness
You sound like a child.
People do things a certain way for a reason, and the reason is often because it works. You're also confusing originality for greatness, which is a completely different thing that isn't necessarily valuable at all. Doing something different just to be different is as pointless as following trends without thinking.
