realistically how good of an investment is it to spend $3000 on online courses (probably over the course of a year) and maybe some tutors so I can become a pro nsfw furry artist if I've already been drawing sfw furry art for like a year
I work part-time and have plenty of free time to draw and practice
can't be any worse than taking out a loan to go to some 4 year art school

waste of money when you can pirate plenty of good courses for free.
if you're going to spend money, spend it on a mentorship/feedback/crit from pros.

Esdeath-anon, known permabeg, rationalized if he paid for the art school, it would make him better because having to pay for something means it automatically works. It didn't.

If you think the same way, I have bad news for you. All resources are free and up for grab online. If you have any decent social skills, you can network with artists who draw similar stuff or are in similar levels or bit above you and you can learn from them.

Do you have a course in mind? It's a landmine out there. A good teacher will absolutely save you time and money in the long-term but you have to do your research. Someone like Will Weston is a good starting point imo

I know much less about private tutors, I feel like it's way too early to worry about them, but I definitely plan on using them when I feel like I have the skills to justify getting one instead of asking randoms online. For courses I'm looking at proko to start with, mainly the stuff they have about figure drawing and anatomy. I know people here don't really like them but they seem much better than some random shitter youtuber shilling their nonsense course. I don't plan on spending exactly $3k for proko, it's just a rough estimate for how much I'd be willing to spend in total on stuff like courses or tutors.

I know, courses mean nothing if you don't actually practice them or draw on your own, At the end of the day they're just videos and tutorials and I need to use them properly to gain anything from them. I've been using free resources like youtube videos and ebooks but books are just too limited and free videos never go into too much depth, beyond a quick introduction they just feel useless
