Does anyone have any insight into the training/circumstances that gave rise to technical demons like Murata, Obata, Miura, and Shinichi Sakamoto?

Hmm... For Murata, I'm pretty sure it was a lot of drawing and applying himself to study. Now, Obata, I heard it was lots of drawings to some extent, but he applied himself to study as well. Miura is a funny one, as he used to draw a lot and also study fundamentals. And Shinichi Sakamoto... It appears that it was a balance between drawing a lot and studying fundamentals a lot.

>Circumstances
I though "historical" was implied there, but I forget the caliber of reader I'm dealing with.
E.g., Coming out of the grind of 70s children's anime production gave us Miyazaki, Kon, Otomo, etc.
>>
All the names you listed have talent and fashion jeans. If you don't got those don't even bother.
>>

trace 3d models and take your time with the lines. That's it.

That thumb is a lil bit too short

There is nothing special about any of the artists you quoted in the OP, neither a relation nor common circumstances. So one would assume you are talking about their skills, because that is all that there is to it.
>>
>>7998303
They all developed their skill and style during their professional life. You can compare their first work to the later stuff. Well, I guess not Miura, he sucked at the start, and still sucked later.

>There is nothing special about any of the artists you quoted in the OP, neither a relation nor common circumstances.
Wrong.
>>
>>7998341
If Miura sucked and you're not even close to his skills, what does that make you?

You turned your inability to communicate a simple idea into both a self fellating and insulting comment at once.
Just watch a documentary about them, they're all pretty popular and their story shares a similar flavor of growing up as a fan of a popular series, taking the traditional, academic route into being some kind of assistant to a bigger pro artist who took them under their wing who gave them opportunities in the industry, their job was part of their practice and so was being around pro artists from who they'd pick up critique and ideas from, they had to be drawing all day all week, it was their job, and their culture takes that rather seriously, to the point of overworking themselves to surpass expectations, there's no real fanfare to it.

>technical demons like Murata, Obata
He won Capcom's official Mega Man boss design contests twice, the first time he's 12 y.o. btw Murata used to be Obata assistant and he got mentored by him.
>My theory on what's going on
Talent is real, and it's not a magic power or divine gift but an experience booster like in an online video game, a talented artist level up faster than other artists while they practice so the 10000 hours rule is BS because a talented guy will be a God tier artist in 700 hous while a talentless hack like me will take 16000+ hours to get good if not even more.

On the other side of the coin, why do some manga artists like Fujimoto, Isayama, Lynn Okamoto or Kouji Mori seems to be permanently stuck with wonky art even despite drawing for 10+ years and studying fundamentals?
>>
>>7998685
Fujimoto and Isayama are manga artists more concerned with the writing/storytelling aspects of mangaka than they are with honing their artistic craft. If you want your art to improve, you have to constantly draw from life, pick new artists to study, and actively draw from imagination/memory.

Most artists fall into three camps:

>I care more about my writing so my visuals will stagnate
>I care more about my art so my writing sucks
>I care about both (very rare)
>>
>>7998332
Murata doesn't even draw digitally let alone trace 3D

You're right, Fujimoto even said to Aka Akasaka in a Japanese interview that he wanna stop drawing too and focus on writing.
Fujimoto is obsessed with movies, manga is just the way he found to make a cheap movie by himself, like a movie storyboard.

I'm not sure what's so controversial about it. Hatching instead of screentones make manga art good? Like you guys have read other mangas, right? You have seen what Dürer drew, right?
Miura sucks.
>>
>>7998896
He's drawing all day, 7 days a week Some people used 2020 to be productive, learn new skills, instead of watching anime and playing video games like most NPCs.

kek. Post your work salty christcuck

100 cool ideas for later
100 half-started sketches
4 hours of thinking about drawing
1 mile of Drawabox lesson one line exercises
Everyday. No excuses.

They grew up in Japan ie Tutorial Island.

>actually have a realistic chance to become an artist by drawing what you like
>grow up surrounded by anime/manga, an amazing book industry, vibrant fine art scenes etc
>actually live in a stable society without immigrants, women and retards constnatly trying to fuck with you

That's just how you become so good if you don't have shit genes and have an interest in art.

that's still /beg/, retards
you can literally go to /beg/ right now and see the same "quality" garbage

This goes hard as fuck. Not to hop on the Liefeld apologist train, but anyone who ignores the appeal because they can spot the technical flaws is just a crab.
