I've heard from other anons is that tracing can be good for practice like tracing down the forms and shapes of a subject and etc.However, I don't really want to add tracing to my learning process since I don't want to spend more time. If I wanted to feel the forms of my subject. I would do some construction and a little bit of copying by line. Plus drawing by eye also helps me train my accuracy. So anons of /ic/ what am I missing out on tracing?

>>8000721Basically the two uses of tracing are 1) when you are a LITERAL day one turbobeg and you need to be shown that, yes, putting the correct lines in the correct places actually will produce a good looking drawing and you too are physically capable of producing a good looking drawing if you just move the pencil correctly, you're not being hindered by the quality of your tablet or your ignorance of secret techniques or anything, or 2) tracing the construction over a reference. This is useful when you just want to quickly see exactly how something is constructed without your own inaccuracies getting in the way.Outside of that it's not very useful. Mindlessly tracing things will get you absolutely nowhere.
Tracing is legitimately goated if you're trying to actually autistically accurately trace high level line art. You are not good enough to trace high level line art. You will improve from it.
