How do I have fun with drawing? I want to draw, talk about my and other's drawings, and improve along the way, but drawing all alone then posting it to some void online just... screams at me its absurd. There's some schizos that can sit in their man caves and draw whatever the fuck they do, quality be damned, but I'm not one of them. And in the last few years when I draw I get mild satisfaction or frustration and don't touch the pencil for days to months after that. Very few people seem to appreciate tools or techniques (pic unrelated on this one), despite screeching about ai or some other boogeyman.I dunno, it all seems pointless without some community that's actually interested in drawing.Also, opinions of non-draws drive me up the wall. They can praise or criticize the most unexpected things in my art, and I get mind fucked trying to understand what they're even seeing. The random praise is the weirdest, I get a compliment on something I consider mediocre to meaningless and I'm left wondering what is going on their head.
I really like drawing while talking with my friend on Discord. I don't know if you can focus on drawing while talking, but we can be friends if you want (if you are a woman, because I am a woman too)

First someone to force/encourage them to learn, then someone to breathe down their neck to finish their work and reward it after.

You need to feel like you're a part of something and that other people know what you're going through; that's what gives me the motivation to keep going, anyway. You had to physically go talk to them so you could learn from them. Paradoxically, the internet has enabled people to be fully isolated from each other because it's easier to get whatever resources you need for free online.
