Can you have an nsfw account for art under the same name as your sfw one? Not a real name mind you, just the same nickname. I'm a serious concept artist but I genuinely can't bother with establishing a different persona with a new account to grow and all that... unless I'm wrong and I should keep these separate? Has anyone tried combining everything under one umbrella? The end goal is to have my own patreon and community dedicated to porn, but only if it succeeds.

Nah, porn is bad for you.
What is a "successful Patreon" to you?

>>8004889Joel Jurion had both his SFW and NSFW account under his real name, seems to have worked out well for him since he got to draw a comic for DC.And he started his NSFW account years before he got the DC gig.

I don't think your serious clients will give a shit if you draw porn so you can keep the same name but it probably looks more professional to have all your concept art in the same place. I don't know if I hired you to draw spaceships I'd probably want to see all of your ship designs in one spot instead of having to parse through five pages of tits first even if they're good tits.Same on the other end, I'm not furiously edging until I can get back to the tits because there's five pages of star wars in the porn gallery.

Yeah I wonder how much people care. I wanna make comics similar to this but probably a bit spicier, as well as trying to create serious comics to try and pitch to publishers
>>8004889>nsfwwhy should anyone care? the only thing people really care about is whenever you are actually good at your job. Do you care if the plumber you called to fix your toilet masturbates to MLP at home?
>>8007182>pitch to publishersThat's not really a thing anymore.
>>8004889first off, shame on you for rent-seeking behavior.but to answer your question, most people don't really care if an artist draws porn. it's just that the technical skillset for drawing sexy women and drawing planes, cars, buildings, etc is very different. most people specialize to cater to a certain audience. people who want porn aren't going to sub to your patreon to see something like landscapes unless there's porn in the foreground of the landscapes. it's more of a branding thing than a secret identity.
>>8005266spaceships mentioned
>>8007475It never was. Always had to be an inside guy to get a book deal. They will, however, print your ready-made comic that you do all the work for in exchange for all the rights and most of the profit.
>>8007763>printWho still does that in 2026?
>>8007763>>8007475that actually true? I see people online that have made it. One I sorta wanna follow is in the steps of is Zoe Thorogood. I got a 100+ page comic I wanna pitch to the publishers, but the issue is my art isnt very good. Picrels the page I'm doing now. At the least, if nobody picks it up which is probably likely, then it was good pracReally I just wanna way to make money doing art so I can do it full time, and not have to do it after working all day. I love drawing, but its hard to sit down after I already sit down 8.5-9 hours a day for my stupid day job.I got another idea I might try if picrel fails that I could try to publish online, and try to get an audience like willing to pay like some of the more popular webcomics, as the premise is sorta similar to them.
