Finally put some of the characters from one of my stories into visual form, and looking to hone their designs. Before you continue reading, I request that you try and pick out who the main character is based on design alone, as I would like an unbiased eye to see if I unintentionally made main-character syndrome. Afterwards, I request you leave your assumption in your reply, and then continue.Setting is your usual fantasy stuff, but much more grounded in reality. Magic and dragons and shit do exist, but not in the context of this particular story. Two elf clans are entrenched in a civil war, while also their entire society is very misandristic. Men are reduced to slave labor while women are dominant and fight in the war. This explains the worker uniforms of the men and military designs of most of the women.>inb4 wtf is that conceptThat's not important, all I'm asking for is help tweaking their designs. Not sure if I should specify characteristics of each one, but will provide extra context if needed for understanding their composition.Thank you very much in advance.
>>8006322David, Liz, Evalyne, and Violet look like the mains.
>>8006322I would guess Liz is the main and Violet is her rivalDjon is no where near jacked enough to be a blacksmith, give that boy some muscles
>>8006325>>8006384Both good guesses, but no.Also I honestly didn't even consider that fact, since originally all three of the boys were blacksmiths but over time reserved that part for Djon for story reasons. He's still pretty young, about 15, and I guess I was trying to emulate how malnourished they are, but you're right. In-lore most men don't live past 23, with David being an exception for lore reasons. (Him and Evalyne have connections to a different story that takes place at the same time as this one.)
>>8006884No one in the lineup looks malnourished. An underfed blacksmith would probably be very lean and wiry; pic related. and, I wager, a bit less happy looking - no one is happy when they're hungry.
>>8007473Hm, very true, thank you for the observation. I guess I don't have many references for what teenagers in that scenario would look like, and I don't want to end up on some watchlist looking for references.I guess I was trying to capture Djon's naive and optimistic personality, partly due to his interactions with Emily (who is the actual main character), and Euclid who keeps assuring him that he's always working on an escape plan and to just keep biding time.As said before, David is an exception, as in-lore, he's the reincarnation of one of the four heroes that took down an incredibly powerful sorceress which is more relevant in the contiguous story, and is destined to defeat her own reincarnation. He however never gets to do so, as he is prisoner here. Nevertheless, the burning fire of destiny within him (cliche I know but don't know how else to put it) keeps him more healthy than most others. Euclid and Djon however have no excuse, so I'll get to tweaking their anatomy.Pic related is when I made him in TLLTD, where I tried to capture more of his disheveled and malnourished look.
