>he knows about the Frieren meme
What was more embarrassing, the Frieren or the kangaroo?
>>
>>8006535
the frierin isn't embarrassing. so,
>>
>>8006535
Probably he never drew a kangaroo in his life, so it was much less embarassing
>>
Anon should DEFINITELY copyright trike that thumbnail since proko did NOT get permission to reproduce that.
>>
>>8006535
But the frieren meme is a masterpiece. You can't recreate it even if you try
>>
>drawing influencer/tutor
>cannot draw

why the fuck is this so common?
>>
>>8006535
does proko really teach people to do those wonky construction heads like that? may aswell just contour draw it if its gonna be so off

the exception is shit like sports/athletics, where you get aged out quickly enough that you have people who did but now can't. Great teachers.
>>
>>8006569
Well that's not really an exception is it? If they have aged out they can not 'Do' anymore, hence the teaching, right?
>>
>>8006567
my favorite amendment to this has always been
>and those who cant teach, teach art class
>>
>>8006563
Like others have said, it’s because people who couldn’t hack it go the teaching route instead. Super common in games like chess for example.
There are a couple exceptions in art though, David Finch and hide are both skilled pros who make a living in the industry and have also put out extensive instructional material.
>>
>>8006535
I really wish we had things like Coloso and Class101 in the early 10s so that I didn't have to be stuck with hacks like Hampton and Nacorda.
>>
i don't get these type of threads
are you aliens, mentally challenged or bots?
>>
>>8006707
It’s called having fun, you should try it sometime
>>
I don't know why you think making a bad drawing is some embarrassing affair at all. In order to get any good you gotta make hundreds, if not thousands of bad drawings anyway. If it's embarrassing to you, you probably should get over that if you want to get anywhere.
>>
>>8006563
It's easy to learn the basics and educate someone else about it, but it's much harder to master it. This doesn't just apply to art, just about every creative field is filled to the brim with tutors who aren't good at the thing they teach because they either refused to dedicate themselves to their craft and gave up, or were willing to exploit a career that will always be in demand thanks to people who don't know any better.

I'm not sure if that one quote is accurate because really it's more like "those who WON'T do, teach". A lot of these teachers also genuinely suck at teaching art because they don't really have experience with teaching in general or drank the kool-aid and think learning art is some magical process that only a select few can do.

I think Ratatouille got it right. Not everyone will become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. At the same time, anyone CAN draw but greatness is firmly decided by conviction and dedication.

You shouldn't really rely too much on creative tutors unless they're actually good at what they teach because the masters will waste no time in actually bettering you. Everyone else will either distract you at best or actively lie to you. You learn how to draw the same way you learn how to write. Copy and observe, break it down, do it from memory/imagination, repeat.

>>8006565
I'm not putting down this particular video or the methods being taught. But my warning to people who are still learning is that these videos tend to be reductive - they take a reference and draw the construction on top of it. It's a deconstruction, the reverse-engineering of reality. At some point, you need to shift gears and go forward - draw from the ground up, force these theories to prove themselves in a void. Actually create. This is when construction truly becomes the tool that it is, and you really get a feel for what is important, what to watch out for, and where you need more robust accuracy.
Some artist can teach construction, but still seem unable to free draw as well as they should, because they don't use construction in the same context as, say, an animator would. There are levels to this, and it's dictated by needs.

>he knows about the Frieren meme
he is the ultimate 30-year-old boomer meme (40yo now) he doesn't know shit about things out of his field
He just has a bunch of zoomers working for him. See that fag, Kristian Nee ? He does a bunch of video editing for these boomer artists.

>>8008485
true i regret buying rembert montalds sketching course so much lol, it's embarrassing how useless that shit is. At least it was only like 90$ when i bought it but still kind of regret it... sigh....
>>
>>8008545
rembert's yt videos look cool, why did the course dissapoint you?
>>
>>8008397
Is that supposed to be a female? Dear fucking god
>>
>>8009161
really can't tell if this is a cool meme or if some of you actually can't read the construction in the OP
>>
>>8009164
What the hell does “read the construction” mean? If the drawing looks like shit then it’s shit. You can’t use “but I constructed it right…” as an excuse.
>>
>>8009188
based. just cause you did everything "right" doesnt make it good.
>>
>>8009188
I mean drawing the face on the neck instead of the head is a good meme but a real face will be on the person's head

kinda cherry-picked but here are some examples where the face is visibly on the head

>>8009492
I also checked the video to be sure and there are several indicators so you know where the face is supposed to go (green) and I've also highlighted where it isn't (red)
>>
>>8008549
it was advertised as it's gonna teach you to draw cool shit like him but every single class in there is like 30 minutes glorified youtube tutorial /int/ fags make to farm on prebegs.
The gesture section doesnt make any sense if you dont have anatomic knowledge. You would think he would spend some time explaining how to draw heads properly but he just draws some shitty head from memory free handing it all and just saying shit like
>yeah ermm yeah that's a good line right there
the only valuable things from that course is the lesson topics that just give you a road map on what to study, but you literally can get the same shit by asking people here. He doesn't try to explain you anything, rushes through the stuff and doesnt even give you proper exercises. I think this course was supposed to just be a proxy/advertisement of rembert's workshops. I heard these are actually pretty good since he is there in person to guide you.
>>
>>8009566
not every course needs to pander to permaprebegs, skipping the dumb shit you should have learned already is a feature, fuck the faggots wasting my time because some nigger is too dumb to figure out he needs to know what human bodies look like in order to draw them
>>
>>8008397
I read that as thanks satan
>>
>>8009566
just sounds like it was above your skill level
>>
>>8009569
>>8009773
shouldnt have been advertised for /begs/ lol
before it was out co host of that course was answering comments under it and made sound even more like it's for begs
>>
>>8009878
it is for begs
/beg/ doesn't mean not knowing the basics
>>
>>8009878
Anatomy takes a couple of months tops to learn, anon, you'll be /beg/ for years after that.
>>
>>8009879
>it is for begs
then it's a shallow course with nothing interesting to offer for the price
>>8009883
>Anatomy takes a couple of months tops to learn
yeah and? if i knew anatomy i wouldnt buy that course lol you can keep making up that this course is actually some gem but it really is just rembert playing with a ballpoint men for 20-30 minutes on average and mumbling to himself some unrelated shit to the drawing

fuck you you can't tell people this it's mean and demotivating
>>
>>8006567
The original quote is a commentary on Aristotle
>those who can - do, and those who understand - teach
The context of Shaw's quote is: a character who, due to his injuries, cannot contribute to a revolution, so he moves to "teaching"/instructing others to "do".

>t. can't
