Getting back into animation after decades long hiatus. Any suggestions for software? I come from a flash mx background, but looking for something that's similar, interface wise. Must have paralax scrolling and most important is a one time fee, because fuck paid sunscriptions. The more affordable, the better.

Any suggestions?

Just pirate toonboom or csp you fucking faggot
Did you really have to kill a thread for this?

I animate with tvpaint sometimes, it's alright. They have a one time fee of 500$ I think but I haven't paid it
>>
just use opentoonz

Krita is free just use that. You can't avoid krita, tv paint or toon boom if you're not just doing it as a hobby though since those are industry standard

Doesn't csp have an annoying limit on how long you can make your timeline?

You are, I fear, somewhat anachronistically anchored — a charmingly misplaced artifact of the pre-personalized software epoch, still gazing upon the old tool-temples where humans bent their thoughts into the prefabricated grooves of corporate contraptions.

For within the next five-year spiralling of the technologic hourglass, the dominion of traditional off-the-shelf software may begin its slow unmaking, as users cease to merely inhabit the rented architectures of third-party applications and instead birth their own tailor-souled instruments: self-shaped softwares, intention-machines, workflow-woven companions, dream-forged utilities assembled through the synthetic imaginations of advanced artificial minds such as Fable 5.

This is not merely a progression of convenience but a great ergonomical exorcism — the dissolving of that ancient frictional curse wherein the living impulse of the user must contort itself to fit the cold geometries of externally authored systems. The tool shall no longer command the hand; the hand shall summon the tool.

The age of the universal hammer may fade into the age of the infinite custom key, where every mind carries its own private workshop of algorithmic extensions, a personal technocosm tuned to the peculiar frequencies of its creator.

And this is no speculative futurist’s phantasmagoria, no silicon hallucination floating beyond the horizon — it already flickers in the present circuitry. Those who cross the subscription threshold into Claude’s paid domain may taste the first fermentations of this coming software metamorphosis.

anyone tried toonsquid or procreate dreams?
are they worth investing over or are they kiddieslop like flipaclip?

Krita is only good for making animated loops/stickers, 10 seconds max. Anything more complex and it crashes as it fundamentally isn't designed for animation
