>>8009364i have drawn for many years but in the past year or two i discovered kei urana's sketches and it finally gave me the direction i needed to pursue drawing with a more serious mindset

Cerebus the Aardvark comics. The strangeness of a cartoon character among more realistically portrayed ones intrigued me.
Very much so.

Some kid on a forum was talking shit and flexing fairly mediocre art skills, I decided I would one day mog him.I don't even remember his name or what the drawings look like, for all I know he was actually really good and he's now one of those foreign animators they hire when they want One Piece to look better for five minutes. Or he gave up and got a job at the post office, found a wife and had two kids like everyone else.
>>8009517kek that's a drawing of me
I remember one day I saw Itoh Sei's work and was so awestruck I couldn't draw for a week. Left me wondering wth I was doing with my life when there's someone out there that can draw this well.I'd been drawing before but was just kinda "drifting", since then I've been paddling towards something but I'm not sure what

>>8009431Cerebus and Bone are the reason I realized I’ll never be white. Literally what’s the appeal of these comics? I just don’t get it.
i just like messy paint
>>8009364Earliest one I can remember, we were tasked to make some visual art for personalized yearbook covers all the way back when I was in grade 2, and I picked this one to try and recreate lel
Hatred of femalesI draw them shitting and in humiliating scenarios as vengeance
>>8026049Based
the howie comic most recently
>>8009364Nothing in particular. I'm more a fan of manga and stories than of single artworks.
>>8009364It was my brother who got me into art when I was a kid. We used to draw comics and games
I already drew all the time as a kid, but when I was 10 and saw this it sparked something more.
>>8009364I was a late in life drawer (17) so I must've been horny lol
I made a post in /beg/ showing something I got commissioned of one of my charactersand Subu drew this as a replyI was like "I need to do this"And picked up art again after I crashed and burned from it beforeI've been drawing everyday since
way before I had access to the internet at home I would buy nintendo magazines because they were the only source of video game related things I had available. I got bombarded by a shitload of official art from many different games and artists and I thought they looked so cool I began drawing trying to copy them.
>>8009364It wasn’t any one single piece, but really just the totality of video games and anime that I grew up with, and my desire to create my own works like that
>>8026141>Subu>drewIsn't that the guy that traces over AI constantly?
Probably Newgrounds, honestly. Seeing that single people could make cartoons themselves, and seeing genuinely well drawn indie cartoons like Bitey of Brackenwood, made me want to learn how to draw to make similar things. While I still adore animation, I'm more interested in just drawing and picture making -- for now, at least. Maybe I'll give animation a proper go, one day.
Idk man. Some of my earliest memories were playing with paint and drawing what I saw. 100% if my father wasn't a piece of shit that didn't want me to succeed id be a lot further ahead than I am now
>>8026308I played gartic phone with them a couple years ago. They were skilled enough to where I could see them being able to replace some high quality work if given enough time, but clearly had room to grow.
>>8009364I remember seeing a bunch of ads in the back of gaming magazines for japanese exclusive games you could get imported. I recall seeing pic related, Morrigan from Darkstalkers, and others.
I was inspired by comics of the 90’s, which is why my art sucks ass.
Falcoon, because he made drawing look easy and funI would draw realistic copies from portraits before I discovered him
>>8026483unfortunately, i lost a lot of his older oekaki art from a corrupted drive (viruses were more rampant back in the day)
I was using AI to generate sexy elves (picrel), didn't like the results I got, and decided I could do it better. I was wrong, but drawing is fun, and I think my rate of improvement has been fine over the past month. I don't think it's beyond me to learn to make something that looks like this but without all the retarded AI artifacts. Just might take a few years.
>>8026308>>8026465I drew with them once too on Drawpile. They made the Koharu and mentioned in the chat they do art fulltime for card games. They seem all right to me.
