Is Loomis still considered the go-to for learning simplified anatomy? I really need to improve my ability to draw anatomy from imagination, but I'm not sure where to start nowadays. There are so many resources out there that I'm having a hard time figuring out which approach would be most useful. Are there any good 'in depth' video courses on this, so I can watch it while drawing?
>>
loomis was never about anatomy, retard, pick up an anatomy book
>>

yeah oke, it's about figure drawing, Which is what I'm talking about.

this is how far disconnected no-draws are, they have literally zero clue, they wont draw, they wont read, they are paralyzed in their quest to find the magical path to success that doesn't exist, buddy, read every single fucking book you can get your hands on, watch every single course, try every single method, watch every single tutorial, there is no single so called correct path unless you go to art school and follow structured curriculum, so just fucking start

tldr: go do draw a box for about 5 years

That's my problem, I don't watch courses or read books. I'm looking for a video course to brush up on my 'figure drawing' skills, while actually drawing.

>asks for a simplified anatomy video course to study while drawing
>gets told to read an anatomy book
>gets told they don't draw

What kind of recommendation is "pick up an anatomy book" anyway. Which one? Are people still stuck on loomis and bridgeman for anatomy/figure drawing? None of my actual questions have been answered.

Thanks for reminding me why I left this board so many years ago.

Maybe still not knowing how to draw should tell you you should have listened years ago, retard.
>>
>>8010761
it doesn't matter retard, the anatomy doesn't change between books
>>
>>8010764
The way it's displayed, organised and simplified does.

>>8010763
So you recommend Loomis then?

Dunning–kruger on full display. Honest question, do you guys feel like you can draw?
>>
>>8010768
If you had read Loomis years ago, you'd have seen he's telling you to do what you're being told to do itt, that being study a fucking anatomy book, ergo you wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.
See you in 5 years with the same retarded nodraw thread.

if you have the iq for it, bridgman is still best
I'm kinda retarded, so I used temu bridgman, which is easier to understand
>>
>>8010771
that's not even remotely comparable to bridgman

this thread is an example, you must find your own path, it's unique, just stop asking unless you are a student to a mentor who will be guiding you personally on your journey

Simplified? There are hundreds on YouTube. We also have a whole thread dedicated to video courses. Have some due diligence.

You have to forgive him. He was brainwashed by the CCP.

get the 2 lezhin books by taco1704 (there is 2 books as of writing).

read and study the first taco book while also using 'figure drawing: design and invention' by michael hampton alongside it. in other words open the corresponding pages to the respective muscle groups: shoulders, back, torso, legs, etc.

copy the diagrams over and over, trying to memorize the shapes of the muscle groups and how they appear under the skin when extended and contracted. study landmarks on the surface. for instance, it is important to understand how the clavicles/scapula sort of hover over the back/front of the ribcage but never actually touch it; they only meet at the end of the clavicle. see where the shoulder muscles attach to the clavicle, etc...

while you do this also study the book "high focus figure drawing" by james mcmullan for more 'meta' stuff IRT figure drawing headspace and approach/improvement.

many people like the "force" drawing series. those are good, (but i never really got into them because i did not like the drawing style in the diagrams in the books, and there seems to be an overwhelming amount of material for a relatively small set of principles)

I also recommend "theorem of pose" but i have no idea if there is an english translation yet. But there's apps where you can take a picture of a page and instantly translate it.

use these books together with figure drawing tools such as rkgk.org, youtube (or in real life if you live in a city and can afford the fee).
