Anyone here done a fine arts degree? What was it like?
They have you paint. It's okay if you don't need to pay for it. I had to drop out from muh depression uwu
>>8011363I did a BA in Illustration at a small school(less than 100 students). It was actually a lot of fun hanging out with a bunch of other artists.Coursework was pretty solid stuff. Lots of life drawing/painting/sculpting, anatomy classes, perspective class, a physics class on light and color specifically - good shit.Senior studio was some top tier shit, just hanging out and drawing all day and chatting with other artists. Just a fantastic time having a dedicated space and time for art.I've heard from friends who went to other schools that the experience was kinda shit at some of them. One guy went to a state school and he told the professors barely gave feedback and would just leave for long periods of time or ignore the class while fucking about on their phone.

>>8011363My cousin once told me of his experience at some prestigious art school in Chicago, where he watched some fat chick pour milk on herself while moaning and stepping on butter or something. Roughly early 2010s timeline. Anyway it gave me some lols and I later went to business school instead.
>>8011363Yeah. Basically just told to draw and paint. My painting professor apprenticed under Wilbur Niewald. I currently work as a groundskeeper at a different university
>>8011363We learnt more about politics than art. All art is political after all.
